Newcomer / Intro What are you up to?

I've crossed over into the Norma Expanse sector now. I'm close to 10,000LY out, and it seems I'm still headed core-ward. I'm enjoying the loneliness, I guess.

This drab planet was worth 77 million or so. And this Frutexa was annoying to locate.

It looks like a menorah.

Head back and dump all your cart data at the trailblazer.
Who says you can't land an Annie in a tight spot?

I had so much trouble even landing the Krait while trying exobiology. The worst issues I've had when landing on a planet. I hope the Mandalay is more nimble.

And by 'exploding mats', do you mean when you accidentally run over them and they fly off into deep space? That's kind've annoying.

Hah, well that's not likely. I sell at the end of each session to my FC. And I'm still heading away from the bubble, not back to it. I admit, though, that I'm not sure why :)
Because that is the way the FC is pointed.

Due to the CG at the Trailblazer megaship my Fleet Carrier is out in the Elysian Shore region I myself in the Ultimate Question? My Cobra MkV* am about halfway back to the bubble and the Trailblazer, in fact I have just crossed back into the Inner Orion Spur.

*So named because its ID in my fleet included the number 42.
A strange build as I am trying to add as little to the rebuy cost as possible, hence the engineered E rated modules, but a very nice ship to use.

No, actually exploding mats that send your SRV tumbling when you drive over them.
Are you sure? Grandpappy Noon footprints look a lot like Rupee's.
But grandpappy's footprints don't have the "RUPEE" logo in the center.

I've been doing a bit of mining recently. I was wondering whether you've heard of the expression "getting caught at the wheel sleeping".
Yes, in RL it's something that we were warned about and taught the symptoms to watch out for.

It is quite possible for this to also happen while playing repetitive cycles in a game, luckily the outcomes are a lot safer in a game.

In RL I was (now retired) a heavy goods driver.

Sleeping at the wheel has a special meaning, not literal. Did you look at Inara recently?

I haven't noticed that. Maybe validate your files if you're playing on Steam.

You're playing with a controller?
I've been warned of this happening from some of the senior members of this thread long before it actually happened to me. It only happens every once in a while. I think there once has been a thread somewhere in the depths of this forum about this odd behaviour. Though I feel like it was one specific material that has been quite volatile. I first thought it was magnesium, but I'm not sure if that even exists as a material.
I've had those magically disappearing ones, too. Happens if you aren't careful enough on a low gravity world.

Yeah, I'm playing with my trusty old XBox 360 controller. Why do you ask?
Hey, I had that happen to me yesterday, it has an ELW too (outdoor world).
Well, the area I'm in right now has a 0% chance of me tripping over my own footsteps.
