Newcomer / Intro What are you up to?

Hi :)

That's a shockingly short post. I usually enjoy putting on my reading spectacles and smoking jacket before sitting down to read one of your tomes.

....There's a reason for that, I periodically suffer from a condition know as 'Diverticulitis'

I provided the link to basically explain what that all means. I hope!

I usually get a bout of it once or twice a year where I have to contact my doctor and get a course of antibiotics.
This time though it's been very severe, I'm on antibiotics at the moment and today has been the only time in the last 4 days I've been able to actually sit down at the computer, as the pain (Doctor Smith...."Oh the pain...The pain" 😃) has been excruciating, it's like somebody's stuck a knife into my gut and periodically giving it a twist!...... but I think there's been some improvement today when I woke up this morning 🙏
I've had quite enough of it now though (it's gone on for years), whether I get better or not with the help of the antibiotics I'm seriously considering enquiring whether I can have surgery, to get the dammed affected parts causing the trouble cut out if possible as it's starting to wear me down.
Just as an afterthought....does anybody here suffer from this as I'm told it's a fairly common complaint (in varying degrees of course). If you do, you have my sympathy.;)

Okay, what is I doin'.....Yes. still out in the black, I'm presently in one of my first discovered systems, and mapping / landing on some of the planets here to get those first footfalls.
I'll be scouting around the nearby systems to to see if I can claim some more stuff before I move on. It's not taxing me to any degree (Unlike colonisation etc.) so's I'll be taking my time and having frequent breaks away from the computer, (sitting down for any length of time just exasperates this condition I mentioned for me personally at present).

Reading briefly through the posts here on the forum it seems to me that people are still experiencing 'problems' with colonisation? and are finding some aspects of it not giving the results one expects in certain areas. 🤷‍♂️
It's one of the reasons I'm out exploring, I can't see the point of putting all that effort in when the feature is obviously not working as it's supposed to....in theory. I'll no doubt try it again, maybe in a few weeks or a months time, hopefully there will be some improvement, and a bit more information from Frontier of how generally all this stuff should work as they intend it to.

Jack :)

Wow.

Found an HGE with Military Supercapacitors. Sent out the collector limpets and got a full load in under a minute.

Next on the agenda are biotech conductors, improvised components, pharmaceutical isolators and sensor fragments.

All I need to do is remember how/where to get them :D

It's been a while since I last tried to find all these bits and bobs.

Biotech conductors are mission only (tho quite generously given). Either traded. Back in times when HGE were at 12 or so mats each i was actually enjoying the search, visiting a dozen or two of systems and gathering things until either full either bored, and then trading those dangerously close to 100. Now it's just way too much. Feds with their Core Dynamics Composites are the best - you can at least gather everything as part of stuff is actually Proprietary Composits, so you got two bins to fill instead of one.

If you have already unlocked Prof Palin Sensor Fragments have no use.
Biotech conductors - mission rewards.
Improvised Comments - Civil Unrest systems.
Pharma Isolators - Outbreak systems and luck.
Its often quicker to get Imperial Shielding or anything easily found and trade it for Pharma Isolators.

Or go to the nearest Materials Trader and convert your latest haul into what you want then go back and do it all again.

Damn. Sorry to hear that. I suppose I'd consider the surgery option since I'm quite elderley at 47 anyway and close to shifting from this mortal coil. I've not experienced the symptoms though so I couldn't judge whether or not it's worth the risk. Definitely don't take anything I say as medical advice.

Nobody likes the dopey Odyssey version.

You should have seen the long threads about it when that expression was first introduced. Absolutely nobody posted that they liked it. But FDEV kept it, nonetheless.

And never fixed glasses, either.

As a highly professionally qualified NVQ level graphic designer myself, I would like for the art designer to appear in this thread and explain his or her self.

I demand an audience.
