Newcomer / Intro What are you up to?

I went in for a second run and barely scraped into the 50%. The credit requirement for that tier is creeping up so I'm pretty certain I'll need to make a third run by tomorrow. At least.

The repair limpets are handy but it left me with zero ammo after hanging around that long. I started forgetting to warrant scan because I was holding back on the multi cannons. Better to bail and cash in.

There are times I drop out of supercruise when indicated, but I somehow end up nearly a million miles from the target. Fortunately I have the fast boot FSD from the Cocijo CG (I think) so I can get going again pretty quick.
Fast Boot on an FSD means that it only takes 2 seconds to go from unpowered to operational as opposed to 10 seconds normally, useful if you get hit with a shutdown weapon effect or have it switch off to save power and reduce heat. It doesn’t affect how long it takes an already working FSD to cooldown or charge.

And there's a decent chance you'd be very close to the 50% tier with that warrant scanner. It'll come in handy for the next bounty CG.

The site is embedded in the ring system, you drop from SC right above the rings, at 60 degrees you would need to boost further. Like a projectile going through tank armor, if the armor is at 90 degrees the path is short, if the armor is angled, the path is longer. Plus, it's a manual dump from SC, so there's that too.
I think the ring thickness is the key here. You drop out of supercruise as soon as you hit the point where you are mass locked. Which is, at least to Morgan in her Viper, around 18 Km from the center of the marker.

Weird. I just felt like it shortened my downtime generally.

Hi All :)

I've topped up my Tellurium stocks. Finally remembered that for ease of collection a planet with Tellurium and 3 types of geological activity would be easier to find the metal on.
I did find the metal in surface metallic meteor objects but it was way too slow trying to find them on some of the planets I visited over the last few days.
I'm just scouting out areas around 'New Yembo'. This is a system on the far edge of the bubble, I've been there many times in the past but in this instance I want to see how progressive players are in this area with Colonisation.
When I've finished up here I'll be off to buy for credits a Mk 5 Cobra!....and engineer it up ready to join my fleet, (after some rigorous testing!)... I've just seen the announcement on the Galnet info that it's being released today at certain shipyards! :D

Jack :)

Ahh nice, long has this day been awaited! :D

…definitely a reason to log in, despite being down with a bit of dreaded lurgy recently - i’ll check if it’s available at Jaques Station later on :]

I'm kicking up dust, that's what I'm doing.

Looks like the power plant is coming up a bit short.
It indeed does. Didn't pay attention to that earlier.
No power priorities set, the AMFU is powered up and there is an A rated Kill Warrant Scanner fitted. So it isn’t surprising.
Ah, totally forgot about that... doh.

Edit:
Thanks for your input. This should be working better.

I feel like the KWS from this CG weren't made with small ships in mind. Even the C rated one is too hungry for the CMV...

Nice. I just noticed it at Kidd Station (not available) after making one quick run in the CG to be safe.

I was heading back to Shinrarta anyway since I thought the next thing I'd do is refit the Mandalay completely for exploration jump range, and maaaaaaaaaaaaaaaybe attempt the Guardian grind. Though I'll have to look at some vids first.

Though now I'll have to add another ship to mess with.

And I still need to do some surface mining.

Looks like a difference on two values compared with the Wiki page https://elite-dangerous.fandom.com/wiki/Exobiologist Sample values and details table has got to be expanded.

To be honest I have never bothered to cross check with this table when cashing in so do not know which values are correct:)
That's where I got it from, the wiki. I'm not sure how accurate it is or how often it's updated, it did jive with Elite Observatory. 🤷‍♂️
