Newcomer / Intro What are you up to?

After getting all 5 of my accounts in on the CG - the Colonia explorer suicided back (I sold my Lavian Brandy and Data first!) and made a quick Whiskey run in an iCourier (forgotten how fun that is to razz around in!), and the last an intollerable 50 jumps from Eranin to Reorte in a Fed Derpship with barely any jump range (about 9ly!) and insufficient funds to upgrade it (I think the last time I played that acct the rep restriction on Fed Derp/Assault/Gun-ships was waived because 'Goids! So yeah, that was, uh, fun.

To unwind I decided to try and run my main up the list a bit. Half a dozen more trips in the Bacon Whale put me at 1k+ commodities delivered and still in the top 75%, so I guess I'm not going any higher than that

Docking at Sharon Lee Free market, Orrere, to pick up another hold full of Meats:

That Corvette is another CMDR (I checked!), because I'd also decided to see how it went if I ran in Open.

Not too bad, the extra traffic is always welcome - well, maybe not the Python Pilot tryin' ta get me fried/fined by giving me a lil nudge in the mail slot (better luck next time CMDR :p), another Eagle outside Davies High (different colour to yesterdays contender) flashing their hardpoints at the docking stream, and the innevitable 'Purple Hair in an FDL' loitering about, points out, but on this occassion not pewing anyone that I saw...

Fun times tho.

According to Inara the 50% level is just over 1K so that account is nearly there.

You mean the class 3 turret beam laser? Reason I turreted that is because it is tricky to get him to fire, and the other way around is true therefor as well, it is easy to stop fire and this is why I like it. Thermal vent application would increase my heat when the enemy throw chaff and the turret continues firing but misses, this way I just move it out of his way while the others still can blast away. :) Besides, long range it just brilliant and spares MC ammo, sucking them in close first, then they get the full whack.

Today I'm doing the Buckyball race, Total Recall 3. It's an interesting course, you have to land at 4 planetary stations, get into your SRV and drive at least 7.5km away, then recall your ship, get in it, and fly to the next station to do the same. Info here --> https://forums.frontier.co.uk/threa...total-recall-3-14th-dec-22nd-dec-3305.532406/

I suck at driving the SRV quickly, but it was still enjoyable for me. I'm sure I'll be at the bottom of the list though :) I mostly join the races for the fun and camaraderie, and to have something different to do, so it's all good.

Here's my ship before the race, sitting on the landing pad:

Participate or participate not ... there is no "bottom" 😄

Managed to get my 'main' up to top 50% on the Party Goods CG before it closed - thanks to CMDR @aRJay 's timely advice!

Not going to bother getting all of my accounts on the PewPew CG, just a couple.

First my old Power Play CMDR ditched his hideously under-equipped Federal Derpship for a trusty Viper MKIII:

PewpewpewpewpewpewpewBOOOOOoooOOOooOOOooooMMMMmmmmMMmmm!

Then my newbie 'Open only' CMDR had a go in the 'Adder-de-Lance':

No action shot, waaaay to many hollow squares and triangles for that! Was pretty fraught just in terms of checking ones target twice to ensure not shooting a CMDR (because a: Its a res at a CG, none of us came for PvP right? and b: This lil Adder gonna pop the minute any CMDR looks at it funny!) and trying to get the last hit on without doing a kill steal.

Still managed to get two claims for 75k, decent pocket change for a noob, and enough to get on the CG scoreboard and nail down a minimum 1McR payout

Probably going to bust out the Viper again and get that CMDR further up the reward tree - that Derpship needs proper outfitting!

No idea how that works with the current CG. In my transaction panel it claims I would have around 290k credits, what is that, doh? I am stuck at 75% since long, despite stacking security missions. I can't really see a progress bar or similar telling me where I stand, other than at 75%. To the right is the Tier level info bar, that I understand as the community achieving certain levels which in turn reflects in payout achieved.

Apart from that, I just announced to the world, well to my world, that I am no longer checking e-mails until week 2nd, 2020. Hasta la vista and all that jazz. :)

Missions have no effect on the CG they are just a method for you to get extra credits.

The remaining CG is a bounty hunt, all we need to do is sign up then go to the RES in Reorte (or one of the location mentioned in the thread in the CG forum), scan to find wanted ships (a Kill Warrant Scanner can boost the bounties earned), destroy them then cash in the bounties at the CG station.

Only some of the bounties will count towards the CG but the higher the total you earned from those bounties the higher up the percentage of contributions you will be.

To get into the Top 50% of contributors you will need to hand in 900,000 to 1,000,000 credits worth of bounties but keep in mind the more people that hand in more than you could kick you back down to the 75% band.

Tiers are based on how many credits, in this case, have been earned for the CG by all contributors as each tier target is reached the rewards paid to the contributors are increased.

(mega facepalm) I am at Davies, and I took tons of massacre and assassination mission on board since day one, meanwhile being allied with 5 or six factions there already, and I was wondering about the 290k not increasing albeit me killing heaps of pirates. I did it all wrong then. Hahahahaha :)

I am still laughing at myself for stacking up missions from day one until now. Hehehehe, all right, that looks a bit better, at 25% now. Nice also for collecting manufactured mats.

Rounds are on me on the day I get that slooooow KW scanner engineered. That thing sucks without engineering.
