Newcomer / Intro What are you up to?

It never fails to amaze me how the cockpits of all the T's look so much smaller from the inside than they do on the outside.

Try viewing it in 3D - even just anaglyph with the old coloured glasses - you really get a sense of scale. I tried the "side-by-side" 3D on my telly but found that the high contrast meant that there was too much burn-through (light leakage) through the opaque lens so overall it looked blurry. I don't think I could play the game using either option but it was fun to experiment.

I thought I’d see if the dust had settled, so I “upgraded”, and logged in. Turns out all the local factions have gone a bit nuts, with many a system flipping to another power or gone independent, which I know is another bug that was reported. Wonderful.

Also, none of the stations are greeting me, as all the STC chatter has disappeared as well. Which is also a known issue. It sounds rather flat without them, and I miss the elegant tones of the Imperial traffic controllers!

So after some consideration, I left for Shin. Dez to outfit my Clipper. After a modicum of tweaking and outfitting, I left on a course for NGC7822 to get out of the way for a bit whilst things settle down.

The clipper is very enjoyable to fly, and has a great cockpit view, but it’s terrible for fuel! I’d not want to be taking it on a sparse area expedition, or out to the edges. All the sounds seem a “bit off” too. And there are disconcerting “workshop” sounds just continuously occurring, which is irritating. There is a twanging piece of wire in the mix too, which is really jarring.

Madeline knows where I am supposed to park when I am home on my carrier:

Well, my quest of the last few weeks is now over. Combat elite rank finally gained and triple elite achieved! The decal is actually nicer than I expected, very shiny! It works particularly well on the midnight black paint-jobs.

The question now is what do I do next? I'll be sending the Corvette into storage for some maintenance and downtime and allowing my fighter pilot some time off to spend all the credits she's made on her share of the bounties.

After this recent non-stop combat I reckon my next move will be to get the AspX or the Phantom out of storage and head off alone into the black for a while, look for some weirdness, take some nice photos, maybe check out some of these carriers that seem to be popping up all over.

Awesome, well done!
I'm a bit behind you lol - just about to turn deadly, which means I'm actually only halfway lol - but it's nice to see the end in sight. :)

Way happy now with the new rig. I was only getting an FPS of 30 dropping to 20 at 1920x1080 ultra graphics.
Tried all the different settings. Last resort was to update the HDMI cable to an 8k HDMI2 cable, sweet now.
Full ultra settings 1920x1080 FPS 120 dropping to 100 very occassionally.
Hoping it stays smooth in full HAZ area combat with lots of npc's....

Greetings,

Fleetadmiral MaxG10 back in service. Yeah, right! :ROFLMAO:

Seriously, after I had not touched EDH since, let me see, I think somewhere early February due to Sars-CoV-2 situation, I now decided to have a look again into the black. I see a lot has happened in the EDH Universe. Fleet carriers, Odyssee etc.

No idea where to go for now, but I see I have to clean a lot of modules first. LOL

Ah well, good to see you folks are still around and kickin... Do stay very alert with that virus, this ain't over, not a sausage, despite reopening orgies celebrated, depending on where you are, it is good advice to take all precautionary measures when entering the public sphere, be it because you are required, or because you choose to do so. Keep a distance to others, wear a mask, avoid unnecessary contact, robust hygiene, stay safe!

All the best
MaxG10
