Goddammit you guys are going to make me grind so I'm not left the only person in the galaxy without a carrier.I stepped off the fence.
A moment later, Sookie Stardust, my faithful exploration ship landed on her new home, the "Chormondley-Warner (XNL-00H)". The "ooh" bit there was me kissing goodbye to half my bank balance. Still, onwards and upwards and now I can become part of the infestation of the bubble by carriers. Mwahaha.

Not going to have much time to do anything today, so I'll probably just look into getting ships and services loaded. No idea how yet.
It feels quite something actually. A new sense of "W the F do I do now? How TF do I do that?" No idea but it'll be fun times working it out.
If you’re in the Bubble, then yes, buying it is easier, I was getting it at Wolf 324 for 40k a ton yesterday. 8m for 208 ton. That amount will give me a whisker off 3 jumps. Fill your tank to the brim, stick another 500 in reserves. If you’re out in the black, I mine enough to cover the last jump and stick some in reserves, typically I get around 150ton. That way you have a cushion and you’re not a full time miner.Erm... so... I want to get some tritium so I can start with this FC business. I understand refinery stations are the places to buy. Is that the first, best bet for me or should I just find a tritium hotspot to mine?
I may have questions on the carrier facet of the game!![]()
At a refinery station large pads, you do the hauling in your biggest ship. better prices at medium stations means more hauling to fill up.refinery stations are the places to buy. Is that the first, best bet for me or should I just find a tritium hotspot to mine?
On the ships right hand panel/inventory/ along the top transfers’. I too had to ask. They don't make things obvious do they? I managed to pick up enough tritium to take the carrer to 100% fuel. I have 8 untis left on my ship. I thought there was a way of stocking up on the stuff so you could store more than your tanks could use. Is this true, or am I missing something (again)?
I use Inara, the commander info is very good. The FC info it presents can help manage the FC.They don't make things obvious do they? look in carrier management, the manage market shows qty of store items. Thanks! Got it. Doesn't show up in the tritium depot as a stored "deposit" though, does it? So how can you tell how much you have stashed away?

Or I just use the same transfer tab in the ship and at a glance it tells you what items the carrier has as cargo and how much of each.look in carrier management, the manage market shows qty of store items.
The depot is basically your fuel tank. I think they separated it because they knew some people would want to sell it and you wouldn’t want to empty your tanks for credits. Thanks all. I can see it now. Wouldn't it make more sense to have the amount stored shown in the "Tritium Depot" tab? No worries, I'm about to take off. Fuel rats on speed dial.
What services did you fit?I suppose...
Oh well. My countdown has started - a short hop to my favourite painite spot, just to test out this carrier thing and get back a little of my recent spending. Then, I'll be off to seek out a good tritium mining spot and really beef up the coffers. I may even plan a -gasp! - trip to Colonia.
Lots to learn!
