Newcomer / Intro What are you up to?

Contemplating building a Colonia taxi.
DBX...no.
AspX...maybe, I like flying it. That fuel scoop is spot on.
Anaconda...maybe.
How fast does the scoop work on the Anaconda?[noob]

Edit: These would be totally stripped builds, travelling via Colonia Highway stations.

With the standard tanks on board the 7A scoop will take 25 seconds to fill the tank from empty a 7B will take 4 seconds longer and save you around 70,000,000 credits.

Consider the Phantom.

Aha! Forgot about that.
Phantom may be it. I'll try that when I return.
Just docking at Sacaqawea.

Consider the lilies of the field.

;)

I’d rather haggle. I’ll give you 50M for that 7A fuel scoop....and the gourd.

Talking of Anaconda taxis. I’ve built one with an 80ly jump range to get me to Colonia in double quick time and am hoping to transfer my Orca out there permanently. Perhaps building a mini fleet (Sidey, T6 and maybe a Python or similar if they sell them out there.)

My question is....does anyone know what kind of money it takes to transfer a big ship like an Orca so far? Or would I be better off taking the Orca out and either a Sidey or similar back (dare I even suggest that cowards way out with that ship!)

How much and how long?
Another 111 jumps I'll be there.

Count on about 1.3 times the full value of the ship.

Ftr that's the whole reason I ended up making an alt account.
Starting over with that in mind seems "cheaper," easier and more effective for what I want to do out there, than moving things back and forth.

lol

Ignoring the reduced jump range issue the Phantom can only fit a size 6A Fuel Scoop which would take ten seconds longer than the Anacondas best, and yes they do run the same tank size.

But the improvement in handling and view....

Is there an issue with the Phantom?

That's not accounting for the difference in FSD size/max fuel per jump.

For the Phantom you only use max 5t per jump* as opposed to the Anaconda's 8.
So for the hypothetical maximum jump it will take the Anaconda slightly more time scooping despite the larger 7A vs a 6A in the Phantom.

*Assuming mass manager/increased range

Heck, I'm so new, I'm just sitting over here in the corner trying to figure out how I can take my Cobra MkIII with 4C shields, boosters, top of the line lasers and canons and survive more than three seconds against the weakest ships and pilots out there on Solo game play.

The Phantom jumps about 10Ly less than the Anaconda, not generally an issue I admit but the context was a Colonia taxi where the cumulative affect of small differences in range will add up.

You make a good point on the fuel consumption the Phantom can go 164 light years further on a tank of fuel .

Ah, gotcha.
I thought you were referring to a bug or something.

To put it another way, it can do 6.4 max fuel jumps per tankful compared to exactly 4.
How far you get per jump changes due to loadout mass, but not the max fuel consumption per jump.

Enjoy it!

Many people consider that the best part of the game.

As you are starting out, and if it were me, I'd slap some upgrades on the "free" Sidewinder and seek a RES (resource extraction site).

Follow the cops around and shoot what they shoot - let them start the row. This is just a small taster of fighting and, at the very least, you'll get used to some basics.

If you get blown up in Sidey, the rebuy cost will be less than a Conda's.

You miss spelled Cobra!
