Newcomer / Intro What are you up to?

As a signed up member of your Private Group I think I should consider being offended by that.
It's a fair point, well made! I need to open my mind a lttle...

EDIT

Although, to be fair, I'd only really not thought of others when it came to conning people out of their commodities buying what I need from them.

I decided to go mining today instead of bothering the pirates.

The 2 systems I've been working out of keep going back into Civil War, which causes them to stop issuing pirate massacre missions and instead issue missions to massacre each other. It's quite annoying.

Anyway I haven't been mining in a bit, so it was nice to float about in the Cutter for a while. Platinum still fetches a good price, too.

Primarily, I've been hauling stuff around in the T-10 tonight. Made it to Tycoon with a 22ly round trip at around 35k per ton.
I got a bit complacent until I was interdicted by a pirate in a T-10, but I managed to survive that one.
'Looking for a damp cloth in Optional Internal to wipe the pirates off the paintwork', he thinks with all the confidence of Mostly Harmless.

I was about to go park up at Yingo and maybe check out Pleiades next time I'm on. Then I realised my Thargoid stop is literally a small jump from Maia. I'll have gone there for meta-alloys early on and probably didn't even think about Pleiades (hence the bookmark). Those trips in the new Cobra took aaaaaaaaaaaaaages.

Anyway, I may as well park up in Maia instead.

I returned after 3 years, because space legs is finally there. With the intent of doing what i like most. Bounty Hunting and Merc work. So far doing a lot of reasearch, reading and watching YT to get up to speed on what has changed. I will probably stick to my Vulture for some time, visit engineers, and go there where the pay is good.

I guess all you really need to get into this is a small nimble, but sturdy ship with high maneuverability, which isn't a hazard when landed in rough terrain (as in easy to access by SRV on return to the ship, unlike the Cobra) - and that role would fit the imperial courier quite well.

Thank you for the advice. I will take a look at it. Truth is I prefer small to medium sized ships. In SC my fav ship was the Cutlass Black, in EvE Online i preferred Frigates and Destroyers.

Same goes for ED. Small/Med ships give a lot of flexibility for in and out ops, have good speed and allow nice weapon flexibility. Back in the day, I was eying the Anaconda and Federal Corvette, however my taste changed a lot since then. Now that I can be boots on the ground, having a small/med ship is even more of a choice for me.

My plan is to stick to something small, get into engineering, earn cash from bounty/merc work. Then I will probably switch to the Krait MK2 or Mamba, when I can afford it. So far, from the reading I have done, those two crafts will give me what I want. Once Odyssey is there, it will be even more work to customize the armor and personal weapons, to which i really look forward to.

I'm heading to a low res to try out the FdL. Angua von Uberwald has a 4A PA and 4 2B rails. If I remember correctly, the last time I tried it, it threw up a serious overheating problem. Also, I wasn't keen on the bottom-mounted hard point.

Time to give it a second chance and mayeb some judicious engineering.

EDIT Yep, one shot of the rails and "Warning! Temperature critical!". And I hit nothing with the PA. Deary me; back to the drawing board or pilot school! :D

yeah, I have a FdL as a hunter/killer...Love the ship in a fight, agree that the main bottom hardpoint is not optimal. I have a 4A Pulse in the main, and 4 ea. 2F MC's (one with corrosive shells) in the other four slots. I have to remind my self when I get back into her to "keep her chin up" in battle, so that the laser can strip the shields and then the MC's can do the rest. If they could have put the Main either closer to the nose, or ON the nose, this ship would be a bigger beast than it already is...Guess that's why they didn't...game balancing and all the stuff.

Oh well, back to off-roading in the SRV picking up Mats. Almost all full of the top tier mats, and getting the 1's and 3's as they appear. HIP36601 is a great system for this...

Take Care and Check Six Commanders! o7

Question for you hotshots. How many of you can regularly SOLO those elite WING assassination missions? I have such trouble with 3 engineered ships blasting me all at once. What kind of build do you guys use?
I had enough problems dealing with four mostly harmless(?) NPC's attacking me. By the time I got the target I was crawling to a station with a smashed canopy. I don't even think that was a winged mission. His friends were just really aggressive.
