Anyway, I just returned from that other planet from last night. A welcome feature is the ability to auto land on planets. This caught me by surprise since I am so used to manual landings.
1. I still havent figured out what triggers the autolanding. I was on a ground mission in a shieldless ship when I deployed the landing gear and moving to land, it triggered by itself.
The auto-lander isnt quite perfect though, it damaged the hull when the blue circle changed to red as it neared the ground and scraped itself.
2. I am not sure if this was around pre-Odyssey but I see that beam lasers can draw long lines on the ground. If I could control the beam better, I would be sending naughty sand drawings to Stellar Screenshots.
3. Fleet carrier cargo bug is fixed finally. I might have a bit more tritium in the hold than I am supposed to have due to some bug checking. Wonder if FDev is gonna come after me with a stick. I can only imagine how much credits some Squadrons who decided to abuse it with LTDs or Void Opals would have generated. Could be 10s of billions easy. Enough for 1000 years of FC maintenance I suspect.
4. How do we tell if a landable planet is 'footfallable'? I landed on 2 which told me unsafe temps and didnt let me out unless in an SRV.
5. 3700x, 32 gig, 2060 Super with 8 gig. Runs on 60 FPS all the way (I capped at 60 using the Nvidia app) but there are occasional pauses and stutters during SC/orbital glide transitions and object loads on both ground and space. Think it is more the program code issue than my hardware.
6. The bad experience with my first 3 ground missions is making me stay away from doing them in the meantime. Too many bugs. Doing the Alliance CG now. Dublin Citadel stocks liquor and other booze so it is useful as I swap Superconductors for booze to prepare for my Rackham's Peak trip. I am only the 4th carrier orbiting it. Pretty low for a CG system I think?
7. Anyone noticed they changed the ships headlights? At close range, it generates a twin corona like effect like some modern cars. Not just a flat splotch of light anymore. Quite impressive.
