Newcomer / Intro What are you up to?

Don't have Odyssey yet (as VR player, there's been little pooint so far), but ISTR that ship weapons with a blast radius (i.e. dumbfire missiles) were a thing for that. Is that still the case, or did FD balance that?
I did a bit of that before I got the hang of the on foot combat. It worked ok, but wasn't much fun. If the settlement is powered down there's not much risk, but you can get a fine for firing weapons in a no-weapons zone (in some cases).

If the settlement is powered up it will shoot at you, and the one time this happened to me I barely got away with any shields left on my Viper MKIV (and it has pretty good shields). Those ground turrets are not to be trifled with.

Run from the settlement I've just powered up

The enemy has landed

The NPC yells "Stop!"

Should I? Not bloody likely! Have an outrageous haul of pilfered phat lewtz and I'm buggered if ur gettn my stuffz!

All I need now is one - a measly one! - power regulator.

EDIT Actually, if I purposely fail a power-up mission, I think I keep the regulator. Or is that not a thing now?

I had a fun Scavenger Hunt type mission today. The Scavs were all on alert and tried to swarm me. Took me 12 minutes to spread them out by circling around. Then in the last 4 minutes all the real action happens, lol.

I'm a terrible FPS player, but as long as I don't let them gang up on me I can beat them. But I thought perhaps you'd like to see it Tyres, and I did record it. Feel free to ignore it, too, it's just me killing stuffs.

Brill! That's a really helpful vid - I'd sort of tried a few of those techniques but didn't have your finesse! Thank you!

Incidentally, on a whim, I took, then abandoned a power-up mission. Took the rep hit - so wouldn't do it infinite times - but kept the regulator. G4 Mav suit - done.

Ladies and Gents, its has been a while. Hope all of you are up and as well as can be given the circumstances. As fro the game EDH, after well over a year now, I started again and ran into a minor problem. Low wakes. I can not for the hell of it, follow the contact on a assassination mission.

Situation (repetitive) : I am in Supercruise and approach the NAV beacon... Zappp there is the contact... follow me... Zapppp he is goin and leaves the low wake...

I target the low wake and try to approach it by positioning the LW with the openeing towards me, then approach very slowly, but as soon as the the bar above my speed (which is in the blue) approches the blue zone, the LW is gone.

I tried a search on videos and so on, found next to nothing. Any suggestions much appreciated.

Seems you may be too slow, the wake expired. It happened a few times to me. Once you see the wake, then approach it asap (and watch the distance and arrival time). As you close in, you should keep that "< 6ls" rule and when the distance get below 1000km, you should be prompted to disable supercruise (like you do when supercruise to stations).

Correct me if i'm wrong, haven't do these kind of mission much.

Yes, low wakes expire. Happened to me too. But you can approach them like any other SS. Target the wake, no need to align with the axis, just stay above 6 seconds, drop when prompted.

Thanks folks, what do you mean by six seconds? I never got prompted to drop. I watch the bar closing in onto the blue, and once it reaces blue... zappp... low wake is gone. Confusing.
