Newcomer / Intro What are you up to?

This has been reported over in the news threads about the updates and appears to be hitting all console players and many PC players using Horizons. Some seem to see it as the end of the world.

There is a fix patch being prepared for Monday hopefully they will have one for this in there.

I'm in the process of transferring the mods back from Conda to Vette, and buy the equivalent modules on Conda again as its jump range is excellent.

With fitting screen F'ed up, guess I'll have to delay it a bit...

I can store the gunz in hardpoints screen one by one, but crash in utlilties slots as i click the sheild boosters.....:poop: plain S__KS

I forgotten I was flying a 1000+ton breast in stead of DBX..... 🤦‍♀️

I'm curious, what were they?

I "don't get out much" as it were, and seeing weird stuff piques my interest.
I genuinely don't know. They didn't appear on my sensor contacts and could not be targeted or scanned like anomaly type stellar phenomena. They were stationary and persistent. Each had the sound of energy crackling and emitted light which illuminated and reflected on the interior of my cockpit. The electric like discharges were dynamic and were in continuous irregular flickering patterns like that cast from a Tesla coil. None of them had a hit box or collision modeling.

They appeared at some point when I was fighting a Cyclops. I assumed it was some graphical glitch that caused some of the weapon effects to appear stuck and persistent at first. After closer inspection though I'm not sure what it could have been. Thargoid lightning is more bolt like. Thargoid and swarm shots are much smaller. It clearly wasn't a missile or caustic cloud. The 'Goid never got off an EMP so that rules that out on top of being the wrong color.

I was running quad guardian shard cannons which don't have any visible charge animation either. I can't explain what it was or could have been. It was however the unexpected highlight of my playtime yesterday. If you or else anyone has thoughts on what it was I'm all ears as well.

Decided to recharge the ole muscle memory of combat in a hazres. During the fights, I lost targeting a few times due to the sneaky blighters employing countermeasures. The thing was, my "target next hostile" button wouldn't reselect them.

Did something change?

Did the target reticle turn yellow? the sucker might be rigged for silent running, you need to get really close to get lock again.

Yes - Update 9 was rel escaped. One of the reported issues (see Sally's thread somewhere in the News section) is that enemies don't necessarily register as hostile any more - no red symbols on the scanner, no white flash when you're shot at, and since there are no hostiles, "target next hostile" (or "target highest threat"1) doesn't find anything to lock on any more .

Update 9.1 is scheduled for some time on Monday, contents and fixes as of yet unknown.

1Yeah, right. A missile is a higher threat than the ship that fired it.

So.. are you saying I should skip tonight's gaming session?
I was quite looking forward to trying the new things.
Oh well.

I should try finishing with Chorvs anyway.
Nah, just avoid certain activities that are currently broken.

They did also fix a bunch of stuff, and added some new limpet thingies and a new SRV. And made the lighting better. And improved performance.

It's not all bad news!
