Newcomer / Intro What are you up to?

Here's a curious one. An ammonia world in orbit around a gas giant. The question I have is: what is the next planet doing? Logically, it looks to me like the ringed body to the right of the one arrowed is orbiting the ammonia world... but that can't be, surely. I am missing the bleeding obvious, I knoow :D

That's what the orrery view is for. Being a 3d view, you can easily tell what's where.

The flat 2D view can never fully show the 3D positions -- it's just a flat diagram.

Usually that's fine, but for complex systems just pop open the orrery view and see what's what.

Well, the "new" ships I welcome even if they are just takes on current vessels.

More Thargoid stuff, well, I have almost no interest in that unless they ever implement fighting them on foot - like a stand-up fight, not another bug hunt as Hudson once said. I appreciate the 'goid stuff is horses for courses, however.

Power play, again, this is has no interest for me.

Fixes are always welcome.
I'm on the same page.

I may get some fun out of new ship variants, but I'm not pining for new ships.

I've lost interest in Thargoid stuff and all its forced complexity. Just..bleh.

And Powerplay is meaningless to me, especially if it goes "Open Only" like some are discussing. I have zero desire for PVP of any kind. I was into it for years, in other games, but it lost its appeal long ago for me. It's just so pointless and the people it attracts are generally not folks I like.

Sigh.

Actually the Ammonia World is not orbiting around the gas giant - they form a pair orbiting around a common barycenter. They are treated as bodies having the same rank and not a main-moon scenario.
The Gas Giant has its own moon system formed by the 6 moons,

So, the horizonal lines between the bodies signifies a series of planets (or even young stars) orbiting a (central) star - all having the same rank.
The vertical line below a planetary body (located in the horizontal line mentioned above) forms the moon system of that particular body - a main-moon subordination system.
While the type of link above 2 planetary bodies orbiting the same star (or planet) signifies a doublet (or more) of bodies orbiting a common center of mass, but with both still being treated as equal bodies having the same rank.
There is possible to have doublets, triplets or even quintuplets (like in this post) - and these can appear even in the moons of a planet/star (so in the vertical line - while being marked accordingly)

I think it's time to head back to the bubble.

I didn't rank up on exploration or exobiology as I'd initially planned but... well, maybe next time.

I've just taken a look at my ship material's storage and it's lacking on a few items I may need for these new ships when engineering. I am, therefore, making my first appointment at Dav's for quite some time.

After that... more mats :D

Well, if you ran out of fuel before docking, it wouldn't have mattered if there was a queue. Even with the ADC, you need fuel to move your ship to the landing pad.
It ran out exactly after the first try. That's the thing... it's the hope that gets you. Hailed from 7.49999999999 km. When I didn't get the slot I figured might as well keep moving and get in position. Except I couldn't because... no brakes. And once the retros ate the last of the fuel, no comms either!
I sure hope you had the number of the Fuel Rats to save your bacon.
Ship was nearly empty so frankly I couldn't be bothered, was a case of insert rebuy to continue playing vs wait a bit to save a few credits.

About 25% the way down the oregon trail

Diverted to a wolf-rayet nebula spotted near the route. The Phantom Streak. What a pleasant diversion

Whoah! A closey. Commander Riker suggest to offgas the cargo bays and the pffft of gas will push u thru

O I think he suggested use the tractor beam then data offered a second suggestion.

I see. Well, I guess I'm the only one that tends to run low on credits, too, in such cases...

Hah!

My own travels look very conservative by comparison! :D

Oh, and that big permit locked area out COL 70 way is very annoying...

It's today's disposable society, inn't it, I'll tell you what. OH, THE SHEER HUBRIS OF SELF-DETONATION!

I'm catching up with ol' rupee <link>. :) Yes there are some awfully interesting permit lock areas like how does that work in the witch space they have DO NOT ENTER signs

Anyway it looks like you traveled a very great deal though, but my trips are a libble bit less conservative in squigglyness

What's with all the green peppers?

What's with all the green peppers?

It's just always been one of the default brushes in the GNU Image Manipulation Program (the GIMP)!

But perhaps coincidentally, by tradition for millenia, nightshade vegetables have been the universal common sign of higher exploration statistics when comparing rows.

So the royal award ceremony would lay a fresh pepper on the favored cartographic data, and sacrifice the loser along with their rubbish contribution
