Newcomer / Intro What are you up to?

Ok, more seriously [since this display doesn’t seem to be driven by an electron beam ;] it might well be the aspect ratio - check the game output is 16:9, ie: for 4K this would be 3840x2160, or 2560x1440 if you’re sacrificing pixels for frames?

Alternatively, it might have to do with the signal timing - that’s somewhere near the end of this user manual PDF…

Checked that stuff. No joy, I'm afraid.

I may change the game to run on my secondary monitor and see what happens there. It's a minor thing though and easily lived with - don't often visit the engineering screen much these days.

Thanks for the PDF though - it'll come in handy as I've lost the hard copy I got with the screen. Ahem.

It's one of these running in 4K - 16:9
That's just showing off honestly
Well, that's odd. ALT ENTRT does nothing. Changing from borderless to full screen does nothing. Unplugging the HDMI did nothing. And, to top it all, I can't find the OSD control to move the screen position around. I'm a bit stumped.
Just an inb4 - on current Windows 11 you are better off with borderless window and Game Mode is now designed to rely on it. Fullscreen is now at the point it's a likely source of problems. This is all covered by a release note for Microsoft's H2 update LAST year so ignore all the advice you see from third parties on the internet.

As for moving the screen position around - if you are borderless window mode then it's literally using the same desktop settings as your... desktop. So unless your task bar is disappearing off the bottom too when not running a game, that ain't it.

You know when you change from the Cobra to the Python and descend to a surface settlement and by the time you get out of the glide you have very much forgotten you are no longer in an engineered Cobra that can stop in half a klick and instead you are in a really heavy almost brand new mining ship... well, that.

It's nice to fly. And it is quite sexy to look at - maybe even "hotter" than the Mamba...

What I do like is the nice touch of the outside engines angling as directional thrust is applied. Bit sort of Harrier Jump Jet style.

Here's a pR0n short of the rear showing those engines pointing down

She almost has a Mamba-like cockpit so I wondered if you might enjoy that ship option as an explorer.
Most of the Empire is pro-slavery, but Aisling doesn't like it.
Aaah. The weeb queen hasn't let me down.
I may regret posting this but as well as the skybox I think some other things look "better" too and I can't believe I am saying this but it might be... better anti-aliasing?
squints

Time to dust off the old wallet, but that's far less annoying than the wasted travel time when you've reached a few hundred million credits. My Krait II is only a 10Mn rebuy.

Speaking of money, I did notice a very large jump in exploration payments after I finally figured out how to correctly plot using stars of my choice. I made about 56m on my last leg to Colonia and I'd only changed things halfway through it. Before that I was making a few million mostly scanning ice and rock worlds. At that pace I should easily hit over a billion and be able to outfit a couple of new ships.

Although transferring the Krait will probably cost something horrific. If guys can become Elon Musk rich just for flying your ship around for a few days, that should be a career option in ED.
