I just reached the Eagle Nebula so I'm near two fifths of the way there. I feel quite happy about that. You should be okay as long as you don't tell anyone or post a screen shot of the system. How far from Colonia are you now?
The old exploration tools had some strange quirks. These terrestrial ammonia worlds seem to be quite rare so it's always nice to find one. They're like pretty little golden Earths.

What's kind've Irritating though, is that I discovered the system and most of the planets but this guy somehow claimed the water world and a terraformable. That doesn't make sense.
I will be avenged.

Though I did claim the entire system where I found those binary Earth-likes earlier in the trip. It's a good sized system with decent variety.
I haven't really been checking if I'm the first discoverer so there's a small chance I may have found something better.

Some cmdrs just honk and go if they are in a hurry, plus what @aRJay said. These terrestrial ammonia worlds seem to be quite rare so it's always nice to find one. They're like pretty little golden Earths.

That's weird. The old system sounds kind've annoying and like too much work. The old exploration tools had some strange quirks.
You wouldn’t get detailed information of the star if you didn’t point your ship at its centre and let at least a passive scan happen, the discovery scanner which you use to ‘honk’ the system was a module so might not be fitted. Actually there were 3 of them with different ranges.
It is possible they spotted the planet by eye and then flew to it and got the discovery by proximity without scanning the system.
I think it was more like the devs just didn't know how to build and implement a better system, back then. That's weird. The old system sounds kind've annoying and like too much work.
Maybe they thought more of the galaxy would be discovered quicker than it has been and decided to make things a little trickier.
I was trying to be kind but that also makes sense.I think it was more like the devs just didn't know how to build and implement a better system, back then.
If I interpreted the stories of our veterans right, it took a few years until newer tools made their way into the game.
My wording might have been slightly misunderstandable.I was trying to be kind but that also makes sense.
I think there needs to be an overhaul on the whole storage thing. With the recent increase in on-foot rewards for example, the 1,000 limit is easily reached. And yes, ship module storage should go up and, with new ships arriving, perhaps the limit to FC ship count as well.r...up the maximum quota we can store. I've lost count the number of times I've seen the text pop up on my ships hud stating that 'Data limit has been reached!'... or words to that effect, and also the 'free' materials floating in space that I've had to pass by....

I agree. If you go into a HGE, you all the sudden get about 100 collectable items, all carrying 3 atual items. But due to the limitation to 100 actual items, you have to leave 66 of the collectable items to perish. If you had a material trade you could call in to trade on site, this would make some sense. But not if you first have to travel to a station with such a trader.I think there needs to be an overhaul on the whole storage thing. Having mobile material traders would also open the possibility to create a new event where you can help such a trader out of a pickle to unlock them. You help them and as a thank you, you get their call sign that enables you to call them to your position. Based on the distance between you and your trader, this might take some time for them to get to your location, so calling them in early could be sensible.
Agreed. You should put this on the suggestions forum.
My recent Python mk2 has earned already a special place in my hearth: after all the combat plane and racecar sims, space games, FPV psychedelic shooters and whatnot, and IRL lots of ATV and motorcycle for years, well, first time EVER in my life I experienced motion sickness was this ship. On a very ordinary 1920x1080 screen. Now I named her after the ancient Egypt god Ammout, but if I had to put a name now, that would be something like Vomit Comet! Love her so much...It seemed like all day yesterday I was getting no materials for scans in the supercruise space. But then I earned some merits or demerits or something when I went into certain state systems, hmm.
After my big drug sale then I set up a Diamondback Scout which was very nice and easy to fly and not bad to land - though a little hard to get in and out of the SRV bay of. In the end, it pales so pitifully to my Python mkII, I believe the Python mkII shall retain the honorable title of Foghorn Leghorn.
I really, I say I really liked the puttering sound the Scout makes too. I better give it one more chance, stick the supercruise back in there instead of the collector limpet. The Python mkII does many great things but it can't match that sputtering sound
She is a beauty too indeed! As for Tyres' one with the red paint.
