A fleel carrier carrier? Has landing pads for 12 fleet carriers.well maybe not all out but we do need summit to spend our wongas on.....................

Or perhaps it could jump a whole Kylie but has a 30 minute cooldown. And runs on chemical manipulators.Imagine the fun* you could have if the carrier carrier could just out jump a carrier.
*well until you got banned for it.
Oh yeah, that would annoy me. I just had to switch mice and I'm constantly right-clicking because it's too sensitive or I'm too clumsy.Yeah, it's quitecomplicated at times. The flying works good. Though I might be a little biased, as I don't have any other means to control a spaceship.
The only downside is that to move the ship from side to side, you have to switch via a button press. By standard, this is set on the left stick, but as it always messed with me when being in a fight or any other stressful "turn, you b*ch" situations (hand slightly tensing up during turning and thus accidently pressing the stick (in many car-related games referred to as "panic horn")), I changed this to a more complicated button set and use the left stick to activate night vision.
Those Virpils look purdy.Any single stick - or even dual sticks without twist - will have restrictions. ED runs on full 6 DOF for the ship plus another 2 DOF for your view. Even dual Virpils are cramped - and those have (for each stick) three main axes, two minor axes (analog ministick) and 30 buttons. My current setup has dual Virpils, a small keyboard with touchpad (needs a better mounting) and a gamepad for foot stuff/free cam.Oh, and a small script to convert the two flip switches on the triggers into momentary buttons. I have a camera ready for gaze/head tracking, but haven't tried that yet. Maybe next weekend.
They work nicely too, and you get extra bits so that you can customise how they feel and work. Those Virpils look purdy.
Nice. My extra bits for the X52 were me personally buying magnets off Amazon to stop it being so wonky. They work nicely too, and you get extra bits so that you can customise how they feel and work.
Unlike the X52 which I also had previously (x2) the important parts are all mounted in aluminium bases, all the switches are high quality and I believe replaceable, build quality is very high.Nice. My extra bits for the X52 were me personally buying magnets off Amazon to stop it being so wonky.
The Virpils are a little out of my price range for now but I've had them in mind.
Trust me, you don't have to sell me on it. Feel free to keep trying though. 2024 was a tough year but I'd like to get my hands on some new gadgets like the Virpil. The X52 is fine enough but I always intended to upgrade.Unlike the X52 which I also had previously (x2) the important parts are all mounted in aluminium bases, all the switches are high quality and I believe replaceable, build quality is very high.
That's kinda weird. At least you're not fully using a controller for FPS though. That's just not right.but for ist person shooters mouse is still king imo which i use to aim and hold the pad like the stock end of a rifle for movement
I've used my Virpils a lot. I've had to replace the yaw spring about three times, the main harness in the throttle once and one of the hats (pips) on the right stick once. Virpil are pretty good at spare parts, unlike X52. I like the X52 as well. I have a set of those on my other PC in case I have to rescue myself. I've had the same problems on them with the yaw spring, which is identical to the Virpil one, and the throttle wires breaking. The Virpils are nicer sticks to use and generally better built, but they don't really last any longer unless you like dismantling them and doing repairs.Unlike the X52 which I also had previously (x2) the important parts are all mounted in aluminium bases, all the switches are high quality and I believe replaceable, build quality is very high.
I have peeped inside but have had no reason yet to change springs or other parts, but from what I have seen stripping and rebuilding would not pose any problems. I used to assist my dad and the local club mainly with electrical and electronic builds and repairs with model trains of various sizes. It does make a change to see something nowadays designed and built with repair and adjustment in mind rather than the throwaway crap that seems to be the norm now.I've used my Virpils a lot. I think we're very similar in that respect. It's not difficult to do those repairs if you know how to use a screwdriver and pair of pliers. If the yaw spring goes under warranty, ask them for a couple, and if it's past warranty, order three of them. I made my own for my X52 out of slightly thinner wire. It's therefore not as stiff, which I find is better, and it seems to be lasting a lot longer. The OEM ones last about 1000 to 3000 hrs. The harness in the throttle lasted something like 3000+ hrs. I do a lot of combat. Maybe that's why I get through a lot of yaw springs. I love your dog. I'm jealous.
