i am now wondering whats gonna happen to carrier owner NMN MARINER V8B-7X who claimed the same system after i did?

i would also like one of you guys to confirm who shows up for you as the system architect if you would be so kind?,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

Hi :)
While I think colonisation is great step for ED (although not my cup of Lavian brandy right now), I don't think it's implementation has been thought all the way through.

I.e. those not doing the content are suffering a bit.

Perhaps FDev need to take note of their stress and volume test results with their beta on a live system.

That's more or less what I think, there's so much to it that hasn't been explained in detail (imho)l, some players have got the knack of jumping straight in and figuring stuff out on the fly quickly. In some cases even savvy enough (although questionable) to see some loopholes, now fixed it seems by this recent update, (and those questionable systems have reverted back to unclaimed).
There's a lot of other players though I think (myself being one) that have got the basic knowledge, claim a system click on the intent to build a station and then wonder what to do with it, as there are hundreds if not thousands of systems still with that 3 - 4 week build time still showing when I look at the present Galaxy map today.
I would suspect that some of those systems will never have a station completed, and will auto revert to unclaimed for a while, especially if those solo players intended to start one of the larger stations. I'll be glad though when the claim pause is lifted as well.

What am I doing.... At the moment trying to sell off some mined metals and minerals (at the best price) still on my Carrier, as I'm quickly running out of space there with collecting the station build commodity requirements. I'll have to decide though soon if I'm going to go with the Coriolis station or an Outpost. ...I need my trucking cutter to do other stuff and moving the carrier with a full cargo bay and 5 ships is getting expensive in tritium! :D

Congratulations! :D

Yup, just checked, system architect is you, Strontium Dog. (y)
I see that Carrier too...🤔.. I seem to remember seeing a Cmdr.'s name of 'Mariner' quite a while back (before Carriers were released) on some of the player first discovered systems or else it was some player mapped ones....can't remember exactly where but it was within the bubble somewhere, I think,. Edit...but that's not the name of the carriers owner.

Someone on another thread remarked that certain edge-case systems like Robigo will stop being special and useful once any nearby systems are colonized, because then the mission generator will start targeting those new systems. And that will be the end of the special case.

He said his favorite bounty hunting system, which used to give missions for 5 factions all to a nearby system, is now kaput because new systems have been colonized nearby and now the missions are divided between all of them.

It's just something I hadn't thought about until now. The galaxy is going to be changed and systems that once were special will be forgotten.

I don't know if it's good or bad, really, but it does change things. I guess it feels like a loss to me. Maybe it's not.

Well, I didn't. But now I do :)
Afraid I managed to get the other two samples by driving the SRV carefully along ridges. So then I just threw myself down the slope (26-30 degrees) until it levelled out enough to summon the ship.

I'm going to be busy this weekend though:

(If you're not familiar with Observatory / BioInsights, those blue diamonds all mean "you don't have this species in your Codex)

I jumped my carrier about half an hour go in 22 minutes. Not bad!

Then, I logged off, came back in and some snake error popped up.

I've not got in again and my jump tie is 20 minutes. Now... what I don't know is if that's:
  1. a fix to > 1hr slots
  2. not many people jumping their FC's
  3. the Thursday tick worked some magic
  4. miracle took place.
Circle as appropriate :D
2 and 4 are the most likely options with 1 being ROFLMAO funny.

For some reason I don’t usually collect many coloured snakes but a brief session this afternoon while hitting a personal goal in one of the CGs got me four Mauve Adders one while I was reading the CG details in the Mission Board.

So having reached my target I stopped playing.

It is the loss of a way of life that has been familiar for a long while so is sad in a way.

Change is often uncomfortable.

Will this be for the better in the end, it is too early to tell but it does mean that things are going to be less static.

It also means all those get bored rich quick schemes will go out of date faster.

Hi All :)

Another aspect to this is that before colonisation for example I had a good idea what systems contained in the area of my 'homebase', and marked those systems (mainly inhabited) with bookmarks accordingly for easy access on the gal map, or with written notes etc. about those inhabited systems as regard commodities, or mineable information in some nearby anarchy (uninhabited) systems.
I'm in that area of my homebase this morning and found it slightly VERY confusing now with new inhabited systems showing on the gal map (player created) and systems being just claimed. So although I've still got those original bookmarks in place the area has obviously radically changed, or changing.
So yes, I agree that it's become a bit 'uncomfortable' now. It's almost...🤔...a bit like being in a new game, but not in a pleasant way....for want of a better description, also a bit weird! 🫨

I've also just docked at a player created outpost, just to get some more information about what commodities the station produces, and what facility's the station has that are 'active'. Ship maintenance is active at this Outpost, as well as the engineers workshop.
Quite surprised that the full menu of commodities is there as per usual, and also missions but I can't use the market iinfo as it's greyed out in the system map menus, but clicking on the points of interest menu it does bring up the player created planet ports main type, in this case industrial, and other info. Clicking on the points of interest doesn't (as far as I can see) bring up any orbital ports though so this is strange, as the Outpost I'm docked at should show up as an Orbital station?
It might be just me but I'm finding all these changes are impacting the Gal map, which isn't showing the full graphics of the systems planets at the moment , for example the gas giant rings and planet's true colours etc. Edit... the system graphics eventually appear but it's taking a long time to 'update'.

Just to quickly sum up! :)...Yep, colonisation needs some more tdlc, especially on the Gal map menus, and system menus'! 😖

Which was to be expected.

Also: Change is often confusing, saddening or sometimes even maddening. It takes some time to get used to the differences between before and after. Not everyone experiences change the same way as others. Some can't wait for it to happen while others feel uprooted and want to go back ASAP.
