Hi All
When I turned 60 some lady work colleagues knowing my interest in Astronomy bought me a 'Name That star' package, so 'in theory' I have my very own star named after me known as 'The Grandad ****** Star' co-ordinates ISD029786 (*blanked out portion is my real first name not a swear word btw!). One of the girls had recently lost her Grand father around that time and had 'adopted' me as her second Grandfather, even to this day. I'll be going to her wedding later on this year.
I doubted the authenticity of the star database package but hadn't the heart to tell them at the time, and anyway, it was a lovely thought as I'm sure it was bought in good faith.
There is / was an area that I found in Hawkins Gap that is a bit prolific with White Dwarfs, it seemed every other jump with my DBX was one!...that was before I obtained a Carrier, so it was quite some time ago. They were first discovery's by me, I did bookmark them all at one point, but soon ran out of bookmarks at the time! (since been deleted).
I must own up, I know where the Dog House is I was just being 'discrete' previously in not naming the actual system (and appearing puzzled
) as I didn't know whether Strontium Dog wanted that to be common knowledge!
No problem, I've often done this myself. I've wondered why once you've posted something you can't then edit it and add another quote, I suppose it's a Forum safety measure or something.
Ah, Babylon 5...I used to love watching those episodes back in the day.
And there was me thinking you had an affinity with our canine friends!
...(as in Dogs generally and Dog house was a reference to a Dog Kennel).
There are quite a number of forumites I notice that have their forum avatars with pictures of their cat or dog pets (I presumed) contained within them.
I've had a number of Dogs as pets (and a Cat) over the years, but after the last dog we had (broke my heart when she had to be put to 'sleep') she was a real character, we've not had another since.
What am I doing....to be honest not much with the game. I've got a largish shed to re-roof with roofing felt soon, and I aint' looking forward to it!
...I've bought the felt, bought the adhesive, bought some flashing strip (I built the shed with one end adjoining to a brick garage) I just need a run of warmer and drier weather to start stripping the old felt off and fit the new stuff. I was going to make a start today.... Annnd.. it's raining here this morning.
Ok, I'm rambling off topic again
...the game...I've got a few tons of colonisation station build commodities to offload somewhere as I'm on hold with station builds as I've run out of steam with that at the moment, and need a change and do something completely different. So if anybody wants some help with their station builds just let me know so's I can get rid of them....soon.
Here's a list.

And also my theory that this area is specificaly rich of black holes...

It seems Strontium Dog answered the construction question. His system is Sector XO-A B1 where I'm parked at the Dog House. Though he named it without the space. I'm trying to shame him into spending 6000 arx to change that.
I try to bookmark player systems as places of interest I may want to visit.
Colonisation does look interesting though. It's a nice option for people who like building type games. I used to enjoy things like Sim City, Civ, Alpha Centauri, and Outpost back in the olden times.
Though a nice thing about colonisation is that it seems to be self-sustainable after the initial week of grind. You can always come back to it in your own time. I'll likely give it a try during an upcoming week off I expect to have.

Whoops. I meant to quote you in the above post.

Very nice. I'd like to rewatch that.

quark just has me in stiches........
yea excellent series
doghouse one word (slang)
a doghouse hand would be a 2 an 7 in poker or on a mission and given a bad clansman radio frequency or simply in trouble with the wife
ie the missus has me in the doghouse atm
it has an interstellar factors to help you get out
(maybe its a more british term? or old one?)
though if spelled with space i think it still means the same or a kennel ( most dogs being sociable domesticated creatures would rather be in your house than stuck outside in a wooden box)
And there was me thinking you had an affinity with our canine friends!
