Hi

That is the thing with a lot of the Guardian sites they are either on the night side or shrouded in creepy mist and gloom.

At least that was the case before Odyssey.

I picked up a few bits of Guardian stuff around the Ancient ruins then finally got back in my ship, ended the game, and went into the garden to do RL stuff before it rains, the sky looks threatening but no rain yet.
This evening I then landed at a Guardian Structure on this same planet and did some more collecting, shooting at stuff and generally remembering the basic layouts of the different areas and structures.
Some structures / areas were on the darkside of the planet and some in the daylight.

I'm also trying to find out if any of these objects and data have still got a use nowadays?.. (G. Casket, G. Orb, G. Tablet, G. Urn, G.Totem and G. Relic etc. etc. plus various data)..
I'm going to stay here for a few hours or maybe a day or two (not continuous play btw! ). Then I'll be moving my carrier into some unexplored regions again 500-1000+ Ly's out to start with.

And I did have a cat about 15 years ago who sometimes liked to try his hand at computering, so I know the drill.

Aww!...cute cat reminds me slightly of our cat we used to have......That must've been at least 25yrs ago now though.

Tried another foot mission (go and fetch), and all my toys worked again. Same outfit, same loadout.

My main concern was not the rebuy but the data, I've got over a thousand systems, neutron stars, and 10 ELW's worth. I was feeling sick to my stomach.

BTW, cool photo of the cat guarding the keyboard.

Oh yeah, I didn't even consider the exploration data issue as a mostly bubble person. I'd definitely be pouring with sweat.

I'm pretty sure I'd already be in contact with the Fuel Rats at that point.

The thought definitely crossed my mind, I figured I would make it while very carefully watching my fuel. I don't have that much pride, I was thinking about shutting everything down and logging out to start that process.

Is Anybody taking part in the current CG (Platinum mining)?
I was about to head out into the black when I noticed the latest CG....so I'm thinking I might have a go here as there's a engineered Abrasion blaster as a reward. ...plus the platinum trade gives a very good payment per ton!
I've just got to decide which faction to support ......I'm wondering if I can support both!
I've probably got something like this Abrasion Blaster from a previous CG...can't remember the CG. but I already have 2 AB's engineered with a 2,500 meter range.
Just so happens I'm right near two systems with gas giants and metallic rings at the moment so I might as well cash in on this CG!

I'm on it, just for fun, i don't think the abrasion blaster is of much use, but it's easy to get.
You can support only one, if you switch sides you have to give up all progress.
I chose Felicia Winters, who happens to be way ahead of Yuri Grom in the CG.

Unusually for a CG you can only support one side probably because this time it is tied into PP.

I am not taking part due to being well out of the bubble failing to make my mind up as to which system in which I want to start a colony and specifically at the moment trying to get some new Codex bio sample entries in the latest candidate system.

Found another electri-whatsit. Nothing particularly special abut it other than I get a kick out of finding them given they're quite rare

The system map is so annoying. I was looking around for a material trader near Muang and nothing showed up for zillions of light years. I then checked Inara and a trader showed up one jump away. I'll have to remember that for next time. Inara > the game's own system map.

And I just realised something stupid while I was typing. My AX Krait has a class 3 beam in the centre and I confused myself into thinking I wanted Shard Cannons. They go up to a class 3 so I would've been restricted to just two of them unless I did another unlock. Now I'm engineering a class 2 beam so I can have three Shard Cannons on top.

Except...I don't want Shard Cannons. I want Gauss Cannons. They only go up to a class 2 so I could've surrounded the beam with four of those. It'd also make things more symmetrical. Though I've started now so I may as well give myself another option.

Anyway, the original reason I was going to post is because I don't recall noticing that there's an actual system called Cocijo.

Yeah, that's something else I've got to do / find as I don't think I've discovered many of those....there might be some in the systems I'm mining at now as there's a few ice worlds with atmosphere's in and around this area. Just atmospheric rocky worlds in the system I'm in at the moment, though there's plenty of platinum, osmium and other metals etc.
Up to 7 bio's on some of these rocky worlds too, the planets haven't been scanned in this system so I'll scan and land on some of them later today perhaps, just to take a break from the inevitable mining fatigue!
(Present system is Col 173 Sector GS-J D9-86.)

Strange, I've not come across any asteroids I can use my Seismic missiles on yet for the deep core stuff. There's usually at least one I find with any hotspots I'm mining in, even with platinum hotspots I've usually found Monazite or some other rarer minerals.
Okay back to the carrier, offload the mined cargo, top up the ammunitions and limpets and have some late lunch!...I'm famished!

Anyway, the original reason I was going to post is because I don't recall noticing that there's an actual system called Cocijo.

I wasn't aware of that system either, strange...I wonder if there's any connection with the Titan of that name in the Sol system. I brought up that system on the Gal map just a few minutes ago but I haven't been to that system so I can't at the moment access the system map to see what's in there, just out of curiosity.

Edit...All Titans (after I did a search) are named after systems that can be found on the galactic map except Leigong (Hip 8887). The system 'Leigong' is actually named LEI (space) GONG as a system on the Gal Map, (with a space between the letters i and g).
So, why the obvious mistake or perhaps difference (if it wasn't a typo mistake) I'm wondering for that named Titan in Hip 8887.

I don't see anything Thargoid related but it does have an odd bio/summary and an outdoor world called Fragland, which I found amusing for some reason.

Also a few high metals but zero volcanism.

Second close call with an FDL in Shinrarta. Admittedly, I was screwing around a bit waiting to see if system security would shoot him in the back, but I noticed my hull was a smidge low. I feel like security are more reluctant to get involved when it's players doing crime. Unless it's me.

I don't know what he was firing but it sounded like a plasma type weapon. Except it was only shield stripping at first.

What type of shields are you using? Any cell banks or shield boosters? I use two boosters and two cell banks on my bi-weaves I also have military grade hull reinforcement with deep plating, three each. I thought that was your combat ship.

I have regular shields with reinforcement. Maybe no experimentals. I may have to look into that. No boosters though since I have two point defence with the warrant and wake scanner.

But yeah I have the deep plating also.

I never really build a ship 100% for anything. Though I've just checked and I think I might get myself the multi-weave experimental for the shields. The Krait has power to spare.
