Newcomer / Intro What are you up to?

I went ahead and purchased the unlock for the Standard version of the Panther Clipper (on my Alt). I have not yet flown it, it's barely usable with all E-class modules (and it came with 2 fixed pulse lasers! haha!)

My Alt does not have enough money to outfit this thing. Just buying a powerplant is gonna cost 116 million or so.

So it's going to have to be a long-term project for me.

I just couldn't bring myself to pay the extra ARX for a bunch of non-engineered modules and cargo racks, especially since none of them can be swapped out or stored. Cargo racks that I can't store? Nope. Not gonna pay for that.

Anyway, the ship is indeed massive. Truly massive. That's me in the blue area near the ramp.View attachment 435320

The thing is apart from the two +size racks all the rest of the cargo racks are standard so relatively inexpensive, as standard cargo racks are widespread and not engineerable they are one thing I rarely store deliberately.

There are some strange choices in the modules though, A grade shield boosters and life support and is a size 7 shield over the top or would I be better off with a 6 and more cargo which would also make swapping a 5 for the Guardian Frame Shift Drive Booster less costly.

Obvious swap is a cargo rack for the Super Cruise Assist.

Hi All

I've just acquired the PC2 Stellar, had a quick look at it but it's now in dry dock on my carrier with a tarpaulin over it to keep the dust off.
I'm at Jameson's now, buying another one which I'm going to fit out with some modules I've already got, and generally mess around with it to see what i can come up with for a couple of regular uses. Next stop (as well as) is to fit it out with a pre-engineered SCO drive at a Tech Brokers.

From what I've recently read on the forum first impressions are good....but I'll find out for myself.
I'm also waiting for those CG rewards to apply to it, I think they'll be ready by Thursday?...(if the CG finishes by then )
I see one of the new paint jobs is Midnight Black...hmm 10,000 arx...pity you didn't get that PJ with the stellar version, I would've possibly proffered that but still retain the gold banding. Still, once I've gained some more arx I might buy it, especially if the price reduces a bit.

I coincidentally stopped on the same $27M haul as Helmut several days ago and it definitely moved the needle. I was a couple of pixels into Master but now find myself at 17%. Not that I'm checking unless I come back from combat with a fair chunk of change, and I probably wouldn't check at all if I reached Elite. Anything after that is gravy.

Pardon my ignorance, but doesn't LYR offer a bigger discount than Jameson's? Or are they the same price?

I got that too. I was using Avast. Don't think we're the only ones.

I uninstalled my AV - it was the free version anyway - and let Defender take over.

All OK now.

I have items in all of them, filters off... the pale colours are due to EDHM, but I thought everything was normally the same hue... until today

This happens every time an update drops - some of the HUD elements change back to orange because the update touched or changed that particular shader. The EDHM team is usually very quick to respond with an update. Be patient.

Oh that's fine. I was just worried in case it was something "material" to the game (geddit...)

No excuse, I just docked at Jameson's as it stocks most of everything as far as equipment and modules go. Yep, you're right as I'm still at Jameson's and it's showing the price as 264,433,384....which I paid earlier today.

I haven't dared to buy a second one yet.
It's funny how the first one can be dropped to "deploy" in some random station one visits... with some kind of shopping bag icon against it in the manage ships' scrolling pictures at the bottom... presumably costs no in-game credits?

I don't think it costs any credits....but to tell the truth I've never checked the bank balance to see if it has.

I've parked my carrier in a system nearby (to Shinrarta) and just docked / returned to my carrier in a Mandalay. The transfer fee to move the Panther to here is just shy of two million.
I intend to do some more 'business' at Jameson's in the next day or two, so my spending spree isn't over yet.

If you re-run EDHM, it should patch and load and install an update. If you have the game open, it will close it, apply the update and then you can restart the game with your colours restored.
