Newcomer / Intro What are you up to?

For a CZ Vulture, I'd recommend something fully engineered and guardianized - CZ enemies are tough and sometimes (high CZ) engineered.
I'd also use low area effect weapons, so my favourite size 3 weapons (Pacifiers) are out. This is basically a Vulture equivalent of my CZ Mamba:
A (fixed, you might go gimbal - but then again, the Vulture will have a hard time if you trigger both barrels simultaneously) efficient thermal vent beam and a focussed (you might go for long range instead - either mod will give you up to double shot speed, which is what I find the most desireable PA mod) Plasma Accelerator.

The Mamba has more hardpoints, so I use two retributors on the smalls, two gimballed beams on the large and a PA on the huge. PA ammo so far has been (barely - I'm usually dry at the end) sufficient for one CZ.

Because I own an FC, I've been doing a lot of mining, not to recoup the financial 'losses' but to get fuel in the thing. I jump 500, costs me around 70ton of fuel, I get out and mine for an hour or so, picking up around 130ton of fuel, so my tank is always full and I'm building up a nice reserve, though of course, the more you carry, the more you use each jump, so I may burn through half of my reserves in a series of jumps.

I'm only boring you with all this info to talk about PIP management. I basically only ever use 2 PIP settings when (PvE) combat comes up. 2-0-4 when fighting, 4-0-0 when the fight is over, occasionally, I might boost during a fight and I might 2-2-2 to regain some power there, but not often.

Mining however, I'm all over the PIP. There is the boosting to find the right rock, then keeping power to the mining tools when mining, then shields for when I clumsily bump into other rocks. Mining, for me, is the most PIP Management intensive part of the game.

I have not tried a long jump as yet , so this is good to know. currently i have enough reserve to do some jump testing now. Where to go?
May just to G type stars first. Going to scout ahead then call in the FC.

This has been my MO so far. I'm heading away from Colonia (couldn't buy any fuel reserves there at all) toward the Bubble. I'm 4.6kly into the journey (roughly 21kly).

I go out in the Dolphin, plot a route for 450ly(ish), I took the FSD booster out so that it takes more jumps (I then earn UC dates to go toward upkeep and cover the cost of the jump, each jump adds a bit more to the weekly upkeep) I do the jumps, if the destination system has no hotspots, I still have another 50ly to go, I switch to economical route, and have on all but one occasion found a system with a ring with at least one Trit hotspot. I call the carrier to that system.

I have tried twice to mine in overlapping hotspots and found it no more lucrative than single hotspots. I try to drop in around 300km from the centre of the hotspot, I rarely get to the middle before I have collected 130ton of Trit. Repeat the process.

As I said though, the more 'stock' your carrier carries, the more fuel it consumes to jump it. So I think it's finding a balance of how much to keep in reserves, I'm also collecting LTDs, Opals, Alex on the way to sell when I get to the Bubble so that I can then just buy Trit and not worry about it for a while, this of course also adds to the mass.

After quite a lot of preparation, i took my Carrier out for an exploration trip on the Vulcan Gate region. Not too far away (about 20k lys) so it was easy enough to reach. Not much is known about this area, finding entire areas completely unexplored. Lots of Neutron stars and White Dwarfs where i currently am, found 3 ELWs orbiting them so far, lots of fun systems..

Still working on figuring out which is the optimal way to explore with a Carrier, ships, loadouts routes and all.. Did some mining too..

Multiple suns..

Being able to sell your discoveries to your carrier, there's no hurry to go back... Only further into the black!!

Making the leap to a G-class star in the SYNUFFE region, approx 498ly estimated fuel is 99t.
It has unmapped ring planets further out. Tritium hotspot found. Plus the usual goodies.
FC requested at the nearest moon. Which also has 47 geos on it. 👍 Oh and for Codger , no one hear but me...:p

made it, no worries now. looks like 100t for 500ly, got 10000 so good for 50000ly of roaming... 👍 🕺

You're the first person I've seen with raider enhancements. It's definitely intimidating and not cute looking. Great pics.

Ouch. £170 though?

Thanks though. For some reason I guessed it would be you who gave me a chair tip. Thanks, VR.
A good office chair is worth it in my opinion and lasts for a long time. In the beginning of all of the working from home I had to use a kitchen chair for home office and it really hurt my back after some time. I went to IKEA to buy a new Markus, but they were all out. I ended up bringing my old Markus from our first to our second home (Mrs Orodruin can’t work from home and works in a different city where we have stayed since March apart from short excursions).

Of course, before spending the money, you really should test-sit the chair. That someone else finds it comfy is no guarantee.

Also depends on how much you have to spend and how much time you will be spending in the chair. All I can say is that I am happy with Markus and would buy another if the need should arise.

Yeah, I'm expecting to be back in work next month but I don't have much to spend right now. Maybe around 60 to 80 pound. It's not a posture thing. The foam died in my current chair so it makes my right butt bone hurt a little bit.

I use my computer a lot for stuff besides gaming so a good chair would be nice.
