Newcomer / Intro What are you up to?

Incoming message - CMDR S Klemkan
Uncle, I left the safe area in a new mid size cobra..as you said.. I promised all the internal factions I would explore the galaxy for them. 100Kcr each, easy money.
Collecting now, should have a good Million credits as seed money. Some of the other recruits kept calling me sly Sergi. So that made naming the cobra easy "SLYSER".
See you soon at the FC...

are bookmarks broken? cant added any in galaxy map, or local
There is a limit to the number of bookmarks, you will need to start removing the lesser important ones.
Make a hardcopy commander journal(a real notebook to write into with a pen) to keep the info you want, the good stuff, engineer details, best mat locations, best trade locations and such..

The bookmark creation does not create a journal entry that I have found as yet, so a useful auto bookmark recording app is not here yet.
Inara and EDDB and other apps may be the better way to go.

Well, that was a short sojourn. I found I didn't have the chops to do another long journey just yet, so I've turned around and started back to the bubble.

I think I'm just going to flit about and do random stuff while plans form in the slow-time mass of sub-cranial matter loosely considered a brain.

I do like making credits - just for the sake of making credits - so I may go on a painite binge. The trouble with that is that all the pain2 spots are infested with carriers so getting a slot in those systems can prove to be tricky. I could just park outside in a nearby system I suppose... or, even better, find a new pain2 spot where the pirate scum don't fly. Difficult, very difficult.

Or I could try and find somewhere where there are Thargoid scouts - they are about the most difficult oppostion I can handle :D

On a side note... while I was waiting for my carrier jump, I tried the basic combat tutorial. I completed it without too much trouble. Has it been tweaked at all in the past? When I first tried it - oh, about a year or so ago - I found it really hard to complete. I find it hard to beleive I've actually improved, combat-wise!

Decided i had had enough of what passes for civilization at the centre of our galaxy, and have pointed my nose at the Trojan Belt, about 300 jumps away, where i hope to be distracted by a large nebula which may contain signs of life. Pure speculation, of course, but 'live in hope',as they say. Halfway across the Empyrean Straits i managed to almost strand myself in the buggy..When i returned to my ship i couldn't find the way back on board due to terrain difficulties. As the geo signals i had landed to investigate were at the bottom of a rocky defile, the ship refused to land in such a tight space a second time, instead opting for the flat open landscape of the mesa above. The canyon having such steep sides, it took me quite a while to find a slope that wasn't too difficult to master, but i managed to extricate myself eventually. It did remind me of what a dangerous place the universe can be though.

well that's worked out nicely for me

Today I am mostly eating vindaloo and listening to Bach Cello Suites while exploding Imperials.:devilish:

At this time of hte day? Renniee's on standby? :D

As to what I'm up to, well, it seems I have the hotspot "bug" again.

I'm at a planet with a Pain2 point, but the orange/yellow blob of the spots are missing - all of them and there's loads according to the nav panel. I've tried logging, mode switching (proabably futile), changing ships, exiting the system and re-honking. I then tried a new surface scan (again) but, of course, the probe just flies through the ring(s).

If this is a bug, I can't see anyone else reporting it: have any of you seen this? Moreover, if so, did you manage to rectify it?

It makes finding the overlap a little difficult although I could estimate it.
