Newcomer / Intro What are you up to?

Right dropping in at Dav's Hope in the noob account.
WTH?! It's full of Fleet Carriers?
I don't get it. If you can afford a fleet carrier, that implies some knowledge of the game mechanics, so, why are you at Dav's Hope?!
Madness.

Maybe it's a BGS war or a new pvp meeting place. No idea, totally baffled.
They are harvesting materials for the fleets docked on board, when they have maxed out the materials storage they will move on to the next source and so on until they have all the materials and will start visiting the engineers In turn to upgrade the entire fleet.

Considering that 90% of those FCs are probably owned by Borann/Kirre's Icebox noobs, "some knowledge of game mechanics" is probably not in their wheelhouse. They most likely haven't even discovered "solo/relogging" yet, which makes me chuckle.

If somebody really thinks he has to bring his entire fleet to Dav's to farm manufactureds efficiently... Oh, the LOLs.

It would be more funny if they didn't bring their Orange Sidewinders with them, but that's on FD, not them.

Ahh, just made it back to the bubble from the Crooma sector after scanning black holes for a few weeks. Found a couple of ELWs, my first supermassive A star, a bunch of H mass stuff, and a world with a 46ls wide ring. And all in all, a tidy 900mil.

Nice to take a break from all that jumping and scanning.

Sorry, don't understand this. DO FC confiscate your inventory when you land?
Just got back in game, so I haven't a Scooby on these things.
Sometimes you target your own carrier (when leaving a station for example), then when you jump to supercruise the target flips to another carrier.
Not paying attention, landing on wrong carrier, can't access anything.
Much head scratching.

Would I be right in thinking that if I'm docked on an FC when it jumps, I jump with it?
Yes. Even if you are offline, you'll go with it. So don't do that unless you want to chance it. Some poor folks have logged in only to find that they are thousands of light years from where they were, and no easy way to get back. :)

I've got a 40LY jump range, so should be OK. Also, this way, I'd only have to work on getting back, rather than getting out there and then back!
