Newcomer / Intro What are you up to?

morning all, are there any similar alternatives to Jamesons crash site or davs hope?
Try this one - still got to give the Goid one a shot:

@Gheera's link above is what you want.

Avoid the crashed Anaconda at Orrere - terrain is a nightmare, you spend more time overcoming hang-ups and sinking.

Koli Discii is good for mats and picking up containers of Palladium - it is a bit of a shlepp out to the planet though - also there is an abandoned settlement close by.

HIP 16613 - 3 comms data points and 3 cargo racks giving Ruthenium, Tellurium and Antimony. This one is well worth bookmarking. (There is a SRV wreck near with a 4th comms point.)

...

This got me to thinking; I haven't visited any abandoned settlements except Dav's Hope. A quick squizz at the Wiki revealed a number of them which I now plan to visit so thanks for that! (y)

I made it to the Elephant Trunk and then decided to head out to jewel that is NGC 7822.

I explored a few Black Holes in the nebula because I was undecided where to head next (back to the bubble or into the black). I decided to head over to FW Cephei, but not before I can grab a holiday snap of the Gorgon outpost.

When I got to FW Cephei, I realised I'm not ready for going back to the bubble yet. I've got my SPACE LEGS back! I look up nearest stations on INARA to FW Cephei and notice Mammon in just about the wrong direction to the bubble (~1.3Kly away) and head off.
On the way, I find a ringed planet with Geo Signals and decide to dust of the SRV. I've hardly used it since I got it and thought I now's as good as ever. The planet was a 2G so not much trouble, though I am still tending to exit cruise too far from the target and having to use boost for the last 150km.
I changed my bindings to suit my style and had some fun on the beach.

I finally arrive at Mammon and think about where to head to next. I've been following Cmdr Turner's Colonia voyage (which is a good thread btw) and realise Mammon is the start of the Colonia Highway, so this afternoon I've been sat at the Astrogation panel and bookmarking my journey. Not sure how far I'll get before the Space Madness kicks in again, but each leg is only ~1Kly. I'm not expecting much of a reward for exploration either as it's a pretty beaten track by now, but hey ho! let's go!

Shard forest update - slow progress, had to self detonate an SRV when failing to get out of a canyon, but polonium and ruthenium bins stuffed. Also very pleased we have fleet carriers, so the SRV loss didn’t necessarily make this jaunt trickier than in the ‘old’ days...

SRV stuck?
Log out, log back in without Horizons, puts you back in orbit. Then relog back in with Horizons.
Still works I think.

I did get to try that too after pinning myself on a shard at the second site... but on the Polonium run I’d stupidly parked in a canyon, went shooting shards and sent the ship off, and it parked on the nice flat bit at the top when I recalled it. Cue lots of faffing and failing to get to with 400m of the ship before slipping back down the sides of the canyon...

I made sure the second site I visited was basically flat! 😂

Where is that?
HIP 36601 - good thread here:

Slight overkill when I’m visiting to get the 23 antimony I require, but had been meaning to go for a while.

Hey all, back again. After months out in the black, I'm back in the Bubble. Like a sickness isn't it, returning back to the populated areas?

I have a few chores to run, must finish off my combat ranking. Then I want to spend some time making surer that the very small fleet I have on my enormous Fleet Carrier is actually engineered/fitted out as best as they can be. I noticed I had some superfluous hull on one of my travel ships the other day. I might hang around for one of the CG's, if they're still a thing.

I decied to see how long I've spent in-game since I started and I'd never really thought about it before. I was slightly staggered it amounted to ~2,200 hours. 2,200! HOURS!

I know that's just peanuts compared to some, but my chin is somewhat bruised.

Anyway, I'm out in the SIFI region getting some nice first disco's (no ELW's yet though) and finding a fair few painite hotspots... although the last one was a bit of notspot.

Where do find that info?
I'd always assumed Cmdrs were estimating when they said how many hours they played. But, like I keep telling myself, what do I know?
