You're breaking all kinds of ground eh? Nice job and cool pics too.First time
I wish I had thought to take video of the whole sunset thing though. I was further out than the last picture above, on the top of a high hill and when I got out of the SRV to take pictures, I slid all the way down the hill...had to use my suit to get back up since the grade was way too steep. It took several tries and a lot of luck to get back to where the SRV was. Then, about 5 minutes after I got back in the SRV and left that hill, I was jumping a ravine, but my SRV integrity was below 50% and it exploded on landing. It was awesome! You're breaking all kinds of ground eh? Nice job and cool pics too.
Yeah! Odyssey has some really steep and bumpy terrain on some planets, and places that are really difficult to access.had to use my suit to get back up since the grade was way too steep.
I usually have OBS running with a 5 minute replay buffer for just that reason. At least I always can save the last 5 minutes of whatever I was doing. Unless I forgetI wish I had thought to take video of the whole sunset thing though.
what card you runing nvidia or amd?I wish I had thought to take video of the whole sunset thing though. Back around Christmas 1996 or so, we did a gift swap at work and I ended up with a Mensa desk calendar. One of the puzzles was palindrome consisting of a group of seemingly random letters and the clue "A northern fruit". Of course I determined the correct answer "Nome lemon" (Nome being in Alaska).PS I see that your name is the same forwards and backwards. Is there a story behind it?
I think Horizons had...ummm...more difficult terrain...mountain-wise. OTOH, I never had to traverse it on foot, so...Yeah! Odyssey has some really steep and bumpy terrain on some planets, and places that are really difficult to access.

I have GeForce Experience and OBS. Had I not been panicking, I could have remembered to hit ALT-F9 to record, but I was panicking!!!what card you runing nvidia or amd?
if nvidia try GE force experience for short videos,
My current desktop wallpaper is the last screenshot in this post...and is the only screenshot I've taken that I have used in that manner. That's some wallpaper-worthy stuff!

Well now, that's bizarre, because for some reason my inner voice always pronounces your name "Neo Lemon" even though I know it's Nemo Lomen. It still sounds like "Neo Lemon" in my head.I determined the correct answer "Nome lemon"
Yes, I think so too. I assume they had to normalize stuff a bit to allow for on-foot exploration. So we don't get quite the same terrain as we had in Horizons. Still, some of it is nearly impassable in an SRV, with no landing places.I think Horizons had...ummm...more difficult terrain...mountain-wise.
LOL - Another forum denizen here has said he refers to me "in head" as 'palindrome guy'.Well now, that's bizarre, because for some reason my inner voice always pronounces your name "Neo Lemon" even though I know it's Nemo Lomen. It still sounds like "Neo Lemon" in my head.![]()
It's a bit of a shame, tbh.Yes, I think so too. I assume they had to normalize stuff a bit to allow for on-foot exploration. So we don't get quite the same terrain as we had in Horizons. Still, some of it is nearly impassable in an SRV, with no landing places.
I know what you mean. Still, overall I'm really happy with the new planets, especially the ones with landable atmospheres. Having a sky that's not just black is nice.Things look great from space, too, and more varied. It's a bit of a shame, tbh.
I hoped they would go the opposite direction. I think it would be cool if there was a terrain that would simply be too hard to navigate. Or even better - hard to navigate with extreme skill required.
So far most planets I visited were the Stellar Forge equivalent of political correctness.![]()
Sure. I don't want to sound like I'm only complaining. I do enjoy it overall.I know what you mean. Still, overall I'm really happy with the new planets, especially the ones with landable atmospheres. Having a sky that's not just black is nice.Things look great from space, too, and more varied.
I've rarely seen mountains in Ody. Not that I've looked a ton though. My 4 months of Explo was in Horizons...and ended about a month before Ody dropped...It's a bit of a shame, tbh.

I've seen some, like this. Still looking for better thoughI've rarely seen mountains in Ody
Yeah, those are about the best I've seen in Ody. Though the planet of my boosting adventure did have some snowy mountain ranges off in the distance, in at least 3 directions from the port, but I didn't make it to any of them...
The fuel tank used to run the ship and fly it in normal space is replenished from the main tank used for jumps when it empties, on a long flight in supercruise you can see this happen.
Just checked this out as part of discussions elsewhere and given how long the ready use tank took to empty at the displayed usage it has a capacity of 0.5 tons.1 ton at a time, IIRC.

No wonder fuel vanishes so fast.
