Newcomer / Intro What are you up to?

Well, if you don't do Neutron boosts and don't fall asleep very often
Wow. That's quite an answer. I've bookmarked that. Full of useful advice. I'm not likely to be circumnavigating any time soon but there's lots of good stuff there for my planned Anaconda build. The idea of plasma slugs to tune weight is totally new to me.
My DBX is within sight of the bubble now so I might jump into a burning station to roast some coffee. But there's still plenty i want to see.

Yeah, excellent reply with a couple of things I've never even thought of, such as using the plasma slug for adjusting fuel levels. Nice builds too! Now I feel inspired to finish my Type 6 nearspace explorer.

They certainly need a body shop for fleet carriers! Mine is starting to look decidedly rough around the edges:

On my home way home again. Had some nice finds in exploration and a fair few codex entries in gardening. I wonder how much I'll make from my biological samples... hmm.

A few parting pics:

Grabbed a healthy anount of platinum in this ring although the hotspot isn't showing. Keep coming across this little foible.

Found a "near ring proximity" planet but I was hoping for more angle on the rings:

Just behind the shot was a steep cliff. When I jumped back into the SRV, I overcompensated in the near zero gravity and slid into the really steep sided crater. Handbrake was ineffective, as was slamming the drive into reverse. When I hit the bottom, my chassis was compromised. Again. Ship dismissal and recall saw the silly ship AI land it back on the crater rim where couldn't climb back to.

Still, as I was driving around the floor, there was a nice icy geyser erupting:

Eventually, I found a way out...

... so now, I need a fair few carrier jumps to see me back in the bubble. I'm keen to get into some covert heist and theft so Terra Velasquez will friend me.

Started picking sight seeing missions too. Rushed to pick one before making dinner....

Well, noticed this when I'm back from dinner, ready to bring the $ucker to the desti.....‼️

what?? Checking my mission description again.... O F___ , criminal mastermind⁉️

This is what happened when you get too excited with the rep+++++ reward.... luckily, the job is done. But then I noticed this only on my way back to home.... I have to accept it before scanning the tourist point? (it must be appeared when I jump into the system, but i didn't pay attention to it) I did brought him the wine but found no way to hand it in :cautious:

Anyway, 80% marquis now. Thinking of what to do with the cutter....🤔 I don't do trading, mining is the second least... PVE combat is what a cutter $uck at, so I may turn into a ✨blink-blick✨ stylish sail barge??

Time to bed, terminal kissing night tomorrow then. 😘

Continued to fly dull but highly lucrative freight runs to Alcor. Boredom mildly alleviated by the eclipse that progressed across the station the last few runs, the most recent giving me this lovely view of a solar flare. Or is it a prominence?

Anyway, if I can manage another 12 runs before the end, I'll end up with my first billion in the bank. Although that's a bit of a lie, since I absolutely have more than that in raw assets by now. Highly specced T9 and iCutter between them must be close on half that!

(I should consider selling the T9... it doesn't really offer anything over the iCutter...)

The T9 gets you further on one tank than a Cutter, but you are probably right. What the T9 also gives is that it can only just escape an NFC interdiction. It's that feeling of only just.

Can anyone recommend a cheap ish Trading/Mining build?

I'm working on Engineers and need to mine 500T of ore to unlock Selene Jean

Budget is ~300 Mil but I don't intend to mine going forward. Can build up credits if not enough.
Anything with the hardpoints for decent mining lasers, a big Power Distributor to keep them running and a refinery. You don’t need much storage as you only have to mine and refine it to qualify, but she will want 10 tonnes of Painite later so you should hang on to that just don’t enter or log into the game in a ring with that on board or the pirates will be after you.

shhh he sleeeping. no that not my ship that his, has he been shot down by an allied, who only took his engines out then left him grounded.?

my first foot assassin mission. That was easy.

For your reference, I unlocked Selene Jean with this . Definitely not the best build but it get the job done.

Adjust the mods class as your budget allow.

i use a asp x explorer cheap and has another slots for all the gear, 4 hardpoints and 6 internals for the cargo and refinery/ limpets
ship cost
6,661,150

but the python or the t9 sounds your best bet.( t9 is a bit slow just to let you know.:) )

Is the unlocl of Terra Velasquez 6 covert theft AND 6 covert heist? Or just 6 in total (with any combination of either)?
No, just 6 of either, but it can be a bit bugged (some people have said it didn't count them all -- I had no problems there). I did a bunch before I got her invite, and those didn't count. Thefts are easier than heists, so I'd suggest doing those. Relogging after to make sure it updates is a good idea also.

Remember "Covert" just means the alarms didn't go off. So be sure to disable them first, then you can do whatever.

Just use a Python like Speedcuffs said. You dont burn any money actually since you can sell all your mining stuff and the Python is a useful ship even late game.

Lightweight hull, D the internals with enough juice for 2 mining lasers firing almost continously and you need sufficient controllers for ideally 6 to 9 collector limpets + 1 prospector limpet. Largest A rated refinery that can fit. The rest is cargo racks.
