Newcomer / Intro What are you up to?

Following my crude pumpkin drawing I had one of those lightbulb moments.

Introducing a brand new series - #srvart

Brilliant!

But I had to suppress the urge to say "Kin yi till whaddidiz yit?"

Dropped off 60 million worth of data yesterday, did a bit of platinum mining and then headed back out again.

I'm closing in on you on INARA rank. You're at 3254 and I'm now at 3499. :)
What?
I gotta grind Inara rank now!!!
:ROFLMAO:

This is a chill out expedition for me, I've not been 'working' at much except Exobilogy rank.
I'm already Elite V for trade, but I should make 40 million+ selling off the minerals back in the bubble.

This lunch break was express exobiology with the Silver Angel, my iCourier. I'm usually starting wars and elections, and winning elections with this ship. 49.52ly unlanded jump range and 850m/s boost for obtaining distance for genetic diversity at pace. It could do with a bit more ground clearance, as sometimes the SRV won't fit under it. A pleasing change from the DBX.

So much Musgravite, but I could only pay 560k/t for it considering prices back in the bubble. At least Monazite is there.
Yeah. It's a hell of a site though.

That's part of what I'm looking forward to getting a carrier for: Just mining everything in site, throwing it in the hold and then just selling it off or waiting until the price is right to sell. Without a carrier, you're at the mercy of the market at the moment and you have no options.

I certainly do more mining and enjoy it more when I only have to supercruise for a minute to offload the goods. Then you need a small or medium ship to scout ahead to possible selling locations to verify the price is still as expected before calling in the carrier to sell. I usually offload with a Python to avoid damaging the offer price too much.

Hmm.

I tend to stock up and keep an eye on the markets. When the price is right - and the timing - I'll infest a system with my presence, load the cutter up (multiple times maybe) then meet the demand :D

It's called corporate greed and it keeps O'Flaherty Industries afloat - I pay off governments who welcome the kickbacks and mess with public taxes under the fictional premise it will promote growth.

If the price is bad, I will wait for better prices. But I'd still scout ahead in the DBX to check the price before jumping the carrier there to sell. I usually go back and forth in the Python while doing something else, so it doesn't matter if it takes a while. Turning up with a Cutter load seems to crash the price too much - it's usually going to be over 10% of demand. The price dips a bit even in the Python supplying under 10% of demand.
