Finishing engineering of my Type-7 for mining.
I figured it can do the job just fine, but it need engineering like most does, two 5A Collector Limpet Controller is overkill, I only need one. This leaves you with a Size 6 slot empty for whatever you want to fit in, another 6E Cargo Rack, 5H Guardian FSD Booster, 5E Guardian Module Reinforcement (or Hull), 6A Shield Cell Bank, you have 6.03MW to play around.
If you want a cheap ship able to mine enough Tritium to avoid your Carrier to run dry, it will buy you a few jumps. Not the best miner but it can do it.
Cons: Runs hot when engaging FSD, although with engineering it's better and it doesn't blow up. Shorter range than some. Only 4 X Size 1 mining lazers. Can't use medium size landing pads.
For: Cheap (17,472,260 Cr). Tough, especially if you take care of upgrading the hull {1A Military grade Composite + Engineering) and using a good shield and shield boosters, although it is agile enough to escape an interdiction, if you get jumped while mining, those qualities will save your day {happened to me while testing its mining capabilities in wolf 363).
All in all good utilitariant ship, perhaps victim of a bad reputation and press (you know what they say about the Type-7), I'll give it a 6 out of 10.
What's next? My Carrier is full of Tritium, so I can pretty much go wherever I want, and am thinking of exploring different sectors Like the Arcadian Sream, I'm sure this ship will come in handy.
