Newcomer / Intro What are you up to?

It varies a bit depending on server load or some such factor. I've seen it be over an hour, and everyone was complaining. It cleared up, after a bit. :)
Wait until the Thargoids launch an all-out massive invasion of the bubble, it'll look like an LA freeway at 5:00 O'clock on a Friday before a three-day weekend.
Now that my losing streak is over I expect they'll be in every other system, right? :)
I thought this was three ELW's for you. Didn't you find one a couple months back? IDK, I could be wrong.

Sorry pal but all I'm carrying are some pretty scary guns and I'm about to aim 'em at you. 😂
That sentence often scares the fuel out of them, even if you are in an AspX...
Had a few of them even forgetting to complain about my empty cargo racks, just because I opened my hardpoints while turning into them...

And I think i have found a weapon setup that works for me with the Asp...
Two gimballed Multicannons on top, a gimballed Burst Laser on each side below and an uneven set of Rocket Launchers in the center.
I did not dare testing it against the big(er) guns out there, but the small ones are done quick enough that I can take them on even if there is a chance that one of the big ones could drop in.

Those weren’t Earth likes they weren’t polluted.*

*Just had a memory partly unlock of a short story, maybe by Larry Niven, about a conversation overheard in a bar. A really old alien was complaining about the changes on Earth since it was last there and how much better the place was before all the free oxygen got into the atmosphere.

How do you find the count. I came across those time to time. I usually leave the best things unscanned. I like the idea of someone later being also excited to discover a system - and, it pairs well with laziness.

UR AT THE BASE OF THE MOUNTAIN, I'M AT THE APEX, JACK!

A lyric from an Automator song <link> pairs fine with Onionhead Gamma
Like, whoah. Oh yeah I found out when I leave rupee in the hangar so long while working, sometimes they extinguis the NO SMOKING sign.

I had two unplanned adventures, this morning.
In an attempt to get my ships back to Suhte, I jumped into the Heart Of Gold to travel to Deciat to fetch the Stargazer and bring her back. Decided to take a little detour to the nearest equipment broker to check if they had something in store for the Heart Of Gold, but no luck. On my way from there to Deciat I tripled the amount discovered of these:
Elite - Dangerous (CLIENT) 20.10.2022 07_16_44.jpg

And then Galroute decided to put me on a streak of two non-scoopable stars... In a ship that can only do two jumps before being in dire need of refueling... 😦 I was mentally preparing to go on and call the Fuel Rats, opening the ship panel to disable any module not needed for survival, but it opened on the synthesis tab, as I had to get me a fresh set of heatsinks a few jumps earlier. And what did I see there? I could go and do an FSD-infusion to boost my jump range. I crossed my fingers and gave it a try - it worked. I was able to jump to a nearby system with a scoopable star. The rest of that part of the journey was calm.

After a real life break - some sleep and a breakfast - I switched to the Stargazer to transfer her back to Suhte. I set off and jumped a few systems and started to wonder why none of the stars seemed to be scoopable. Following my intuition, I checked the module tab - and found no fuel scoop. 😲 When did that happen? I am pretty sure I was not drunk or anything like that, as I avoid drinking alcohol. It just does not mix well with my health. Luckily, the system I was in had a few outposts which at least had some fuel to spare. So I travelled on, checking if any of the following systems had a Coriolis or any bigger station around. I found one with quite a few stations and cruised over to the closest, a Coriolis orbiting an ELW.

As far as I remember, this ist the first of these I have seen.
In the station, I sold a hull reinforcement module (where the heck did that come from?) to make room for the scoop.
I also checked if there was anything in the advanced maintenance to be done and discovered that the hull integrity of my ship was at 0%. Er... Huh? 😲 Does that mean my ship was held together by the well wishes of the station flight control officers I encountered? 🤔 Must have been some really strong wishes, then. And, most importantly, who granted them? The Great Tharg? The Incredible Guard?
I will definitely go and check my other ships in this regard. Would be quite the unfortunate end to disintegrate due to scraping along some space debris...

Here we go! Imperial Eagle looks just cool~!

Yes I am especially fond of it in Midnight Black.

From what I have seen so far, the imperial ship design language is over all sleek and elegant.
Without missing out on the "I mean business" part.
The Imperial Eagle is a bit of an outlier though as it isn’t their own design they just took the Eagle and made it better by adding the go-faster pods and spoiler and to take care of business better power and hard points.

I like it more than the MkII because of the higher speed and firepower, that it comes at the cost of lower agility doesn’t worry me unduly as I don’t really fly anything to the edge of the agility envelope.

Other things than alcohol can cause you to not notice what you are doing, fatigue is one.

Hull integrity is slightly misleading, your hull doesn’t lose strength as it drops it is more like it becomes a little more brittle. But even with all integrity lost you are only something like 25% more likely to be in trouble if damaged.
Distance travelled in supercruise is what degrades your paint rather than the number of jumps done and I think it is the same for Hull integrity.
The cost of repair varies with ship type and can get expensive so I tend to always top it back up every time I dock in a station.

True. Might have been the case, here.

That is a relief to hear. The Stargazer does not see any combat, as I use her to collect materials, but still. You do not want to have your landing struts poke through the roof of your ship after a particularly rough landing... The repair only cost about 3.5kCr, but I intend to pick up on your ritual to check integrety and such after every tour.
