I forgot I had this screen shot in the buffer, a magical floating Fumarole.

Gravity must have been really low on this planet / moon...

Trade rank is based on profit made from everything except combat, exploration and some passenger missions.

I am not entirely sure if the money made by exploration does not account for the trade rank. As I am out exploring a little on my way back to HB and am quite close to the next rank in trade, I soon will be able to tell if or if not.
Disclaimer: I am speaking 3.8, here. No clue if these mechanisms still work that way in 4.0.

I found a planet with seven bio-signs and I found all of them, starting off with bacteria.

Inara. There used to be percentages in your right-hand panel but some wise Fdev person decided it would be better to just have a progress bar. Progress. Yeah.

Also EDSM (Elite Dangerous Star Map) which means it is in the journal files somewhere so almost certainly you could find it with EDDiscovery which reads them.

Having a look around EDDIscovery now as this is an interesting point. Can't seem to find it though.

Combat rank wise i'd rather focus on something else if it's deemed so slow.

I did want to unlock that one engineer by getting to Dangerous level, but I've written that off.

When you start it is listed in the history page as Progress - shows current % for each type.

Look at where you start the game - loading starts with Fileheader then goes in sequence...

There are an awful lot of facilities in it that I have never used. It started off as a simple log file parser with a travel map facility - it is now an enormous juggernaut with more tools than B&Q.

I run it for the exploration value estimate and that's it. When I pass 50 million credits, I head back to the carrier.

Other than that, I have no use for it.

Yup there they are in the .log file

One of the more recent additions that I use a lot is the web server now that it displays the system scan details. I have that displaying on my iPad when I am out exploring and it gives me a quick, easy way of seeing if there are terraformables to map. Really handy.
