What Challenge Have You Set Yourself?

I particularly enjoyed your getting an SLF inside a Thargoid (base) adventrure :)
Something I need to try myself, when I get an SLF capable ship .

And I need to do a round the planet, just because.

However, for the OP I have 2 immediate goals:
1. Have a crack at the new Guardian mission (the old one was too big/complicated to want to invest the time)
2. Go visit the INRA stations and crashed Cobra III in my own Cobra III now that the planets have been prettified.

Many. one of the few ones I've left unfulfilled is 1 million ly:s traveled. Over one fourth left still on that one.

Another thing I would want to achieve was deeper relationships with the 'goids. I'm beginning to have my doubts if that's ever even going to be possible, nothing has changed on that front since 2.4 (slow as usual but disappointing). I'd like some of their tech and to see their homes.

Also I would like to nuke Sol/Earth as a part of the Thargoid campaign. Or even something along similar lines, "retribution on humankind" and all that doom. But as said, so far the Thargoid story is a major letdown in depth, seems all you can really do is hang around them. Or what seems more as what FD intented, fight them. Most content in that. Sadly (to me).

So, I have 3 major things left, I think. First one which is a meaningless milestone, and two of which I highly doubt will ever be possible in any (deeper) sense than currently (which is practically nothing) due to developers approach. Yay. Well, I don't mind so much, I'll roll with it. Am old, gotten used to being nothing.

I've put nearly 7 weeks of real time into this game since the Gamma launch and I didn't wipe, but I'm yet to own a Corvette or even have a Elite status. I've got few assets and ships, but what I do have I intend to over the next few weeks is to grind up some Federation ranking and my Elite statuses. I've got a Chieftain decked out as a bounty hunter and will also gather plenty mats to engineer since picking up anything is worthwhile now.

Yea I've been playing this game slowly, and I did spend a lot of time on my videos (and I'll maybe do another one soon) but now it's time to get a bit further in actually playing the game.

It is wise to try and enjoy the path of progression and not focus solely on the goal. The ratio which varies by subject :)

What kind of videos do you make then? Don't think Iv'e seen 'em, and always looking for good ED content uploaders on YouTube. Linky?

"Wonders of the Galaxy" in his sig is a link. :)

What Challenge Have You Set Yourself?

I've signed up for the DW2 expedition, so I've a choice - do I go for a bigger ship with a longer jump range (and take it out for a long shakedown trip) or do I stick with my approx. 47Ly Asp Explorer, which has served me so well up to this point?

Other than that, to keep getting my name on as many star systems as I can.

Currently: re-applying new G5 mods and effects to all core ship components for 28 ships. Shields and FSDs completed. Thrusters, Power Plants and PDs left to go as far as critical stuff. Then I'll be looking at armor and shield boosters. Finally weapons, of which I've probably rolled more than 100. Not sure how many of those I'll be re-rolling. Hard to gauge the worth of that kind of effort output, especially if gains are as relatively small as they've been so far. We'll see. It's taken a great deal of time to gather enough mats to roll ~60 G5 mods, as you might image. I might end up skipping a re-do of the PDs as I'm pretty happy with how most of them turned out prior to 3.0. The experiemental effects are what's taking the longest, as some components require 3-5 of any given material. Multiplied by 28 ships and it starts to feel pretty excessive.

Future: Creating Guardian weapons and all that stuff.

After that, I guess putting all those mods and ships to good use again. It's been awhile.

A year-long circumnavigation of the entire Milky Way Galaxy, hitting all the furthest away stars my >60Ly Annie can hit with jumponium :D

Completed:
- progress from Adder to DBX
- buy Asp Explorer with -20% discount (Alioth allied rep run) (also, step up from DBX)
- visit Sag A*
- engineer few FSDs to G5 (pre-Beyond)
- buy Anaconda
- buy Chieftain

Pending:
- make Chieftain combat worthy (error: insufficient funds
- achieve absurd jump range with Anaconda
- visit Colonia and Beagle Point (preferably in one go)
- buy Corvette (missing rep - not even started; missing credits - in truth all of them)
- buy Cutter (same as above)
- buy T-9 and try mining with it (another credit issue)
- have 1B credits (currently at 9% goal achieved...)

I've set myself the goal of becoming the kind of combat pilot that can compete at the highest levels. Currently I'm just Ok at PVP, but I've been studying the combat mechanics of the game for some time now and I think I finally understand enough to create a fairly effective and somewhat unique build. But what I think I'm missing is a deeper understanding the precise weaknesses of certain very tanky builds and elusive flying styles and how to defeat them, and also how best to dodge the various types of incoming fire. I've met some truly slippery CMDRs out there and was extremely impressed by their abilities.

To pick up as many system permits as I can, one day reach quadruple Elite (one done, three to go). My goals change from time to time as I think of something else.

For example I visited Soontill (from "And Here The Wheel") and Freeholm ("Elite: Legacy") to tick them off the list of places I have visited.

My goal is to travel to Colonia and settle down, get the know each system (full scans + system faction knowledge) and make an ally in each of them, then choose the system I like best and make it my 'home'.

I would be there already but sadly I am grinding Engineering first, because I can't do it casually in Colonia. Though I do like engineering, I just wish I could do it there....
(I also want to learn flight assist off only flying)

Current challenges :
- make (at least) 6 billion out of one exploration trip using Li Yong-Rui boost.
- reach Legend in CQC

Finding that narrative that should be around since 2.4 [noob]

Seriously, im more setting waypoints than a real "goal", atm im on a little exploration trip and trying to find new Guardian Sites while out there, good chances i didnt find anything before getting bored and heading back to the bubble to do other stuff, but totally fine with this :)

Get my sticky fingers on some prismatics (1 week to go).

Currently re-fitting my Anaconda that I gutted and mothballed to outfit my Corvette. Previously it was heavily geared towards combat. It is currently a reasonably capable trader/miner.

I did want to get a T9 and do some serious trading. Bought it, outfitted it, decided I didn't like flying it after a couple of days so sold it. Now eyeing a T10. I should really just stick with the Anaconda...
