What did you do in Planet Zoo today?

Finally xD I have time to post my stuff.

First:
Indian Elephant Enclosure. I've already shown the building a couple of times (the one with the octagonal hall) I have now designed the outdoor enclosure and placed the elephants.

Second:
Between the elephants and the bears there is now an enclosure for the binturongs. I was uncreative with the fence this time. The problem is that they would climb up the wooden walls. Maybe I'll change something there, but mostly not and I think it looks pretty good. The climbing frames are not mine, I just think it's stupid to build them yourself.

Third:
I built this enclosure twice. At first I had a pane of glass with a cave behind it where the train runs. but it looked very clumsy and somehow didn't fit. So I erased most of the rocks and made it more open. I like it a lot better. (Is that actually what the pumas wanted to have a ty navigation over the rocks? I almost went crazy. It was often enough if the rock had a small elevation and they could no longer navigate over it. Actually thought these were "Mountain" lions)

I also finished the track for the Monorail.
(For some reason the restaurant doesn't work for me, the workers are stuck in the building and guests can't reach it. That's why I closed it for now...until I found out what caused it)

And as always the overview!

@Fini , love the rock work you did with the Cougar habitat!

I think this could be a success in the workshop, although I don't know how easily walthrough habitats can be uploaded.
For @Veah and others who may be interested, today I have created a blueprint of my 'walk-through' European Fallow deer habitat.

This is made before Frontier officially changed the Fallow deer into a walk-through today 😂, so to make this blueprint work you will need to place elephant grass, or edit the null barrier and include guest walk-through gates.

Ages ago I started a zoo in Hokkaido based on real Japanese zoos like Maruyama and Asahiyama zoos. I thought I would have another go as I am trying to practice building so I copied the polar bear enclosure I was working on and tweaked it a bit. I don't know how far I will get with the zoo but I am happy with this so far.

Oh, it's right, the new update wasn't so good for your habitat 😅 But thanks anyway, I will try it in my zoos!

Why the moat inside the habitat? Is it for separating male and female from the same species?

I've been sorting out workzones, adding foliage and small details to buildings (just realised I forgot to add windows to the most recent staff buildings ARGH) and loads of conservation boards. Now I need to do a load more mini gardens in the green gaps, which I keep putting off and now there's loads to do! I also need to have a go at building my own arches for the entrance but that can wait. The guests are too busy moaning about carrying their own rubbish and being cold when it snows (It's a temperate zoo in Europe. Bring a coat, you fools!!!) to notice the floating bridges :ROFLMAO:

@sockeyejo , I love the theming and the layout you have going on! The mini-gardens is a good idea and I often neglect those in my zoo.

Thank you! I really like the effect of the formal gardens but ye gods, they're a pain!
@sockeyejo That's some really good asthetics there! Looking forward to where this goes, but it's a fantastic start.
Thank you! I'm going to continue the symmetrical, stylised building for as long as I can bear it and will then let it expand into something much less formal. (The backstory is that it's an old-fashioned zoo that people stopped visiting as the animals didn't have enough space etc, so it's been taken over, keeping the original, historic buildings for smaller animals and rehoming the larger ones into more spacious and natural-looking habitats.)

I don't have pictures right now but I built most of my African section in my Audubon-inspired sandbox zoo:
  • Lions
  • Pygmy Hippos
  • Fennec Fox
  • Warthogs and Aardvark
  • Nile Monitors

I've had a few false starts in setting up a more heavily themed, native focused zoo.

Got the idea from a place a friend stopped at while on his way back from holiday trips where an old farm became an animal park with several of the animals transitioning...mainly the Bison and Reindeer that they were raising...along with a few non-native ones that they still had (Peafowl and a few other more exotic farm birds and ducks). That expanded as it became the park with some imports, gaining, I believe, Key Deer, cougars, and several smaller animals along with a couple bear enclosures that they gained from various states animal control to take in nuisance bears from across the country, but, the friend commented that those were currently in hibernation and off display.

Not sure the name of the place, but the friends pics were interesting and the story inspired me for mixing in the old farm parts mixed with the additions of environmental stuff as they go.

I did one of the sides of the restaurant (the opposite side was facing the sun bears). I chose the koalas for this side, and you can see also a terrapin in the rocks.

And finally a window to see the koalas in the indoor area and some blue tongued lizards in the background. Also the second monorrail station peaks out:

First guests heading to the brand new restaurant in the former manor house. The tables are in the orangery at the rear which will overlook the boating lake / flamingo habitat once I get round to building it. The pillars at the front are hiding cash machines as it's situated right at the back of the zoo (or at least what I've built so far) and everyone seems a bit skint. I used the plastic windows to get the look I was after but I've just realised the colour is a bit off even though it's the same hex code as other limestone / classical pieces. Oh well. You cant' tell from a distance.

Today I took stock. I am continuing in this beauty of my franchise. I'm going to make a rhino (savannah) enclosure on the right side of my zoo I think, and then I need some input. Shall I make Asia or Europe? I haven't used both packages very much yet. In this zoo now there is mostly Africa, North America and aqua. For those who like it, some photos:
