What did you do in Planet Zoo today?

Really @random goat , I missed your project so much. Just love to look at your buildings.

I finally fired up the game again and re-build the Prairie Dog habitat in Unity.

It's hard for me to concentrate currently, due to a broken friendship and me having problems giving someone up, so I lack a lot of creativity and steam. Hope any DLC to come will change that. The hyper focus while building in PZ really helps a lot.
Thank you so much!
You're doing a great job with Unity zoo too as far as I can see! I hope things change for the better now and that the next DLC sparks your creativity again!

Soooo... against all odds, I started a new zoo. A mini-project with a defined finish line. As my depression currently loves the sentence "nothing good ever happens and if something good happens it never comes to a happy end", I feel overwhelmed with my three open-end zoos currently. So to ease the pressure and jopefully finally really finish a zoo, I started Amity.

Amity is loosly based on the island in Jaws, though I won't have any sharks there, but animals that live on an island IRL and / or have a huge connection to water. There are 11 animals on my list currently, so there is the finish line. Of course, I might add more if we for example get manatees (not that I really want them) or Pelicans (those I want) in game. Or any animal that would fit the theme. I also didn't consider exhibit animals yet. But still, there is a finish line, giving me time to breathe.

In my 1 hour before work session I build the first keeper habitat, that is obviously not yet at the right place.

For now, I plan to keep the need for power, water cleaning and such on, which gives me an extra building challenge.

Right now I'm planning on a zoo based on Ukraine to raise hope for countless refugees and the victims out there. I've been drawing major inspiration from Kyiv Zoo but still need more references. I'd appreciate if someone can aid with images as recent as possible, that is after the gate renewal and right before the tragedy.

Today we visit the big cats of America with a double habitat for cougars and jaguars. One thing that I was trying to improve on this zoo was avoiding flat habitats and working more with the terrain. The complex has a big square in the middle, with cougars on the left side and jaguars on the bigger front and right side.

The good news is that I'll finish my zoo before the new DLC drops.

Next to the jaguar, you can enjoy the views of a family of capuchin monkeys:

Then an animal that used to be at the zoo entrance has been rolocated to the America section. Prairie dogs now live by the new monorail station. They also have an indoor area:

Finally, behind the monorail station, there's a large walk-through habitat for llamas. People can also see them from outside if they don't want to enter the habitat.

Hello! It's me! Again!

Facing the monorail station, there's a mixed habitat for bisons and pronghorns:

Then you can find some American exhibits. The water from the terrapin seems different to the water from the bullfrog, but we'll be able to fix this soon :)

Last but not least, you can admire the giant otters from multiple viewing points:

This was the other day but i placed some rocks into my peafowl enclosure only for both my birds to hop up and over the fence, which started a wild chase of the female where she knocked into a keeper causing the guy to walk backwards and glitch out of the path. Eventful

It was difficult, but after today's announcement, managed to squeeze in a place in Jamestown Zoo for the Asian Small Clawed Otters. The basics anyways. I wish I could have gotten a ground path in for guests to view from, but this will have to do with the space I have. With the Penguin Pond (for the African Penguins) and the ready to move in and adjust habitats for the otters and the Capybara, and adding in a Playtpus station (which should be relatively easy to this I just did), that will bring this to 48 habitat animals.

Unfortunately I don't have any other room in the Asia section here so this will have to be it for Asia. But I have room for other things elsewhere, just not from this pack I think.

Totally forgot to post last night after finishing.

Amity has now a cute little entrance and is therefore ready for its first habitat soon-ish. :)

By the way, I sold the giant otter waiting in the trade centre :D Amity will have ASCOS, as, besides keeping Hippos in the long run, it's not exactly high budget and I always imagine the Giant Otter in high budget zoos.

After some weeks of absence I just admire all your progress!

@random goat I've loved your project from the beginning, but this Nile Monitor habitat is outstanding!

After visiting a smaller zoo last weekend ONLY to see some lemurs (cuteness picture here), I had to finally add a lemur land to my zoo. It is way too huge of course, but I keep all three lemur species there and want to breed large families. I had some space left and added bongos next to them. They form tropical Africa and lead over to the Asian habitats. Everything is lacking decoration, which I will do next time. I also need to do some animal management and I think I will slow down the ageing even more, because I can't keep up with all the births and deaths right now!

It was "invoice day" today for me at work and since I hate it, I usually do self-care and chill afterwards (and I will do so tomorrow, because I can).
Soooo... I got quite a bit done in Amity. Sure I still need some fine tuning in some places, but all in all it's comming along nicely. Entrance plaza looks inviting and has two information points now. Spontaniously added two exhibit animals near the toilet, because why not.
For the Flamingo habitat I blueprinted my beach houses from the Flamingo habitat of oooold Unity (not the new version). I still love them and the beach vibe is simply perfect for Amity.
