What did you do in Planet Zoo today?

I've started a new franchise zoo because I like to use all the new animals in franchise first and research them before using them in my sandbox zoos. The new zoo is based on Ibiza, in the Mediterranean sea. Although the style is similar to my old Zarpa zoo, this time I won't make areas based on continents, but in biomes, and I will start with the wetlands area, of course.

The Wetlands DLC gave me inspiration to fill in one of the biggest empty sections between the entrance and SEA section of Taman Safari Hutan. It will definitely get a spot for red crowned cranes, and I'm also considering adding small-clawed otters, red pandas and perhaps water buffalo to this section. Perhaps I'll keep otters in the backside (viewable from the forest trail and the proboscis monkey house) and cranes in the major part that's viewable from the main road. If possible, I will allow red pandas to climb around in both sections, but only go to the ground in one part.

Damn your buildings and especally entrances allways look amazing. The jealousy is real, great work

I did a lot of work today, but nothing to share. Haven't taken screenshots and after a terrible night with bubs I've been too tired to really think about it. Once I've finished up a couple of areas I'll share some screens tomorrow, but what I did today was;
  • Expand the "Hoofstock Row" so it now includes sable antelope and pronghorn. There's room for one more habitat there which I'll build tomorrow, probably for springbok.
  • Build the "Giants of Aldabra" house. Includes an indoor and outdoor area for the Aldabra giant tortoise.
  • Build a habitat for the Asian small-clawed otters.
  • Start work on a Big Cat area, two habitats for Siberian tigers (since I couldn't get my white Bengal; original plan was three for Bengals, one for the female, one for the male, one for the white tiger which wouldn't be bred), and two which will probably be for snow leopards (making it a sort of "Asian Mountain Cats" thing - if we get Amur leopards this year and I'm still playing this zoo I'll swap out the snow leopards for them).

Once I've finished Hoofstock Row, I'll head back to the other side of the zoo and do a lemur island I think past the meerkats. I'm going to include both ring-tailed lemurs and black-and-white ruffed lemurs eventually, in separate habitats, and then another habitat for the capuchins. I've also got to do the Crane Restaurant.

Okay, I'll share the otter habitat just because I'm super proud of the garden behind the underwater viewing window. The habitat itself is currently unplanted and the backstage building is unfinished, but I'm waiting to see what enrichment I'll need to include before I do those finishing touches.

For whatever reason I was able to play the "Ahornblatt Wildpark" (something like maple leaf wildlife park) from the challenge mode in sandbox mode. Don't ask me how I did that. But I love the design and landscaping, so I spent two days building a bridge, taking apart the pre-built houses, fiddling with grouping and ungrouping, trying to remove doors and put stores into a copy which almost made me lose my mind, and then I made a beaver habitat which makes me quite happy :)

Hey there people, today will be my last update in a while, because im not gonna be home for two weeks, but i made sure to put some nice work in today for you to see!
Little hint, it starts with l and ends with why are these animals hated again?

But yes, i finally started work on the lion habitat after i allready finished the front part of the fencing. For the main guest viewing i reused the fence from the badger habitat, but the rest is just the europe wall and some foliage for now. I honestly really liked how the terraforming of the habitat went and struggled to put in details in the foreground, as most things just looked kinda bad, but these little rock and foliage formations did the trick for me in the end, making the habitat look less empty but also not clusterd with stuff.
For the backdrop, i havent decided yet but i think i will make a second trench and have a habitat behind them and their shelter/carnivore house at the right, as well as an expansion to the back.

Gotta say, i really loved the addition of the dog rose, its such a nice plant for filler foliage like on the left side here. Also really good to intercept the view and hide something.

Last view is from the side of the habitat, just to have more angles. Overall im very happy with this and i would love to hear you guys feedback, so that i can do some nice improvements when im back in two weeks.
Or just a bunch of compliments! Compliments are allways welcome here.

Ok, I can now finally show y'all what's up with Quell's Covert. Here's the zoo, in full story:

A new drone for a new zoo. Here's a bird's-eye-view shot of Quell's Covert:

Our little entrance area, with some (blank) banners (I need to make some art here)

To the right, the reptile house:

We house some rare animals, such as golden poison frogs, Lehmann's poison frogs, and lesser Antillean iguana. Our zoo's goal is to make a successful breeding program and donate the young to other facilities all over the globe...

...to the left, a little food court (making me hungry):

Seating area (is this a glitch: no guests are using the tables?)
IMG-20220411-WA0003.jpg

A behind the scenes bathroom, too.

And now, our 1st habitat: the Lemur House!!!

You walk in on the bridge...

Lemurs crossing on the vines above (ok, 1 vine. Maybe I'll add more later)

We house 3 species of lemur, all endangered:
  • Ring tailed lemurs
  • Red ruffed lemur
  • Black-and-white ruffed lemur

And then you exit, and you find...

(As y'all can see, I'm trying to improve my building interiors. I still have a lot to go).

...now we come face to face with an animal who's numbers have been hurt because of poaching:

Chinese pangolins. We have 4 enclosures, with 2 set aside for breeding purposes

The ones in the back. No guest is allowed to view inside, but since y'all are VIP, we'll grant you a little glimpse:

Shh, don't tell anybody what you saw. Sign a non-disclosure agreement, please, or we will find you....

Hey guys, I've started a new zoo, inspired by the architectural style of the volcanic island of Lanzarote. My idea is to create a zoo built into the center of a picturesque village. I haven't thought which animals to include yet but... step by step. At the moment, this is the entrance 🦭
