What did you do in Planet Zoo today?

Finished my takin habitat. One step closer to finish Biopark!

After all this time? ... Always

A few days ago, I was shocked to discover that I have not really played for almost a year! Life got busy and other hobbies got in the way, so I just didn't feel it. I did, however, follow the DLCs. And now, the excitement is finally back! Like every year, I crashed into my pre-christmas-burnout with no motivation to work (3 days to go!), see people or do ANYTHING. My capacities are just empty and my brain told me to dive into a game and play escapism in my precious free time. Long story short, I have been playing again the past evenings and enjoyed it like I always do. Luckily, I haven't experienced crashes with the souvenir shop, which I find a nice little addition, just like the restaurants. I went back into my mediterranean zoo where I had started a big Australia section which is now enhanced with most of the species from Australia/Oceania.

Next to the gift shop there is a walkthrough habitat with the most adorable quokkas and the tiny penguin. Then a habitat with platypus and tasmanian devils. The devils where in the cage-like habitat before, but since they are so tiny, I moved them in with the platypus which had too much space anyway. The cage houses the cassowary now and maybe I'll add an emu habitat to round the are off. Now I'm going to decorate it and then the area is finished.

I'm at a point where I just wonder if I tzake the risk, make another fresh back up of Unity and start building again. Not that I finally have an idea for the three missing india areas, but I just want to at least dabble around with it and try a few things, in the hopes that that sparks an idea.

So I have been trying to build a renaissance fair type zoo, originally most of the buildings were brick boxes until I had time to actually play again in full.

Here is what I did today:
  1. Make a castle near the entrance
  2. Make a medieval style barn for the wild horses
  3. Use the new modular gift shop feature and make a renaissance fair gift shop
  4. Tear down a food and drink area to make more medieval style buildings and houses (unfinished but I will get back to it tomorrow)
  5. Added mute swans to a lake
  6. Start the groundwork for a train ride through a forest with Wisent.
I’ve never tried to make since intricate buildings before, so far it has been fun! Some of the building features can be tedious though.

Sounds awesome. Hope the Giftshop doesn't cause your Save to be unplayable😕
Would definitely love to see Pictures.

I've also did awesome Stuff. I've started and mostly finished my Discovery Center. The Underground Area is absolutely awesome (want to also add Platypusses though due to their Ability to sense Electric Fields from their Environment). Just didn't really figure out yet how to finish the above Ground Area

I logged into my zoo and funny thing, there's a second parking lot! I wonder how that got there...

The major build of today was a transmission tower, connecting cables awaiting second tower construction.

Of course the zoo sign is built aswell.

You've done such a great job with the giant egg! Between this and the saiga I'm inspired to dive back into my "what if" build based on the Calgary Zoo's 2013 concept art.

Today though, I was finishing up the new career scenerio. It's a tricky one with a big loan and a lot of sick animals to manage, but ultimately a lot of fun. I was very grateful for that soccer (football?) field before the end. I am now the proud owner of a Golden Takin. :)

Since the map is in Europe I declare it a football field 😉
(Only americans say soccer to european football)

Thanks! The egg was really difficult to get right and i still managed to mess up the egg shape. Turned out like a half egg, half cylinder shape but still nice enough. Here's a picture of it up close
