Man cletus looks like he already gave up on life
Guest services building is landscaped and lit. And the zoo’s first residents have arrived. Free range peafowl.I started a whole new zoo that I’m calling the Sonoma Coast Wildlife Sanctuary. It will be home to abandoned, abused, and neglected animals of all species.
Today I worked on the guest services building and the entrance plaza simultaneously. I’m modeling the guest services building after the administration building at the Phoenix Zoo and the entrance plaza is being modeled after this gorgeous courtyard at the Houston Zoo.
The zoo entrance is next on the list. I saw both of those photos and had to jump right in on them first. View attachment 389752View attachment 389753View attachment 389756View attachment 389754View attachment 389755
Probably would add some sort of safety precautions to the bridge, otherwise the raccoons would stay in there for longView attachment 389828
The Everglades building has a new habitat added to its front, this being two connected habitats for raccoons. The left side is forest based with a pond while the right side is an abandoned farmyard displaying the adaptability of the species. There is also a pair of skunks in the rightside habitat.

Any suggestions are welcome!
That's a nice design, specially interesting the part full of "garbage".View attachment 389828

There is simply null barrier around the part with the bridge. Only one gate so its a single habitat. That's a nice design, specially interesting the part full of "garbage".
However, every time I see in Planet Zoo an habitat split in two parts I wonder if it is really working properly. It seems those are two proper habitats with gates so the keepers can do their duties in both parts. In that case, is the alarm for escapee animals always warning you when the raccoons are in the skunk habitat, or just when they are above the visitor path?
Ok, but then both sides of the habitat have food, water and poop that needs managing from the keepers. Can they do that from the guest path, outside the enclosure? There is simply null barrier around the part with the bridge. Only one gate so its a single habitat.
The logo is very cute!My park got a name and a logo now. I thought it would be a nice touch to incorporate the castles outline in the logo.
Maybe should translate: "Heimat" is a tricky one since there isnt a direct translation, just multiple words that kinda mean something similar but not quite. Essentially it refers to the place where you feel at home, you belong or youre native to. Which i found fitting since there are only native and semi native animals on display here and the park should have an aspect of history and culture to it.
"Tierpark" literally translated means just animal park, and its often used as just a different word for a zoo.
And "Schwarzwald" is just the german name of the black forest where this is located.
As for the animals, the first 2 are i think pretty clearly a red deer and wisent. The third was originally supposed to be a wolf, but the more that i look at it the more vague it becomes, could really be either a wolf, fox, wildcat or lynx

Not sure but I play sandbox anyway so not a concern for meOk, but then both sides of the habitat have food, water and poop that needs managing from the keepers. Can they do that from the guest path, outside the enclosure?![]()
Generally for double habitats with just one gate, you want to have food and water in the main habitat as the keeper will usually refuse to fill food in the non-accessible habitat and all poop is removed automatically when the keeper tends to the main habitat.Ok, but then both sides of the habitat have food, water and poop that needs managing from the keepers. I need a “love” option to properly convey my admiration for your work."Eurasian" otters habitat is about finished, just gotta put hot wire around it. Their enclosure makes a nice home for this waterwheel shack i build as a little nature scene in the very beginning of this park.
Also got this super cute shot of one of them walking over the log.

I’m getting fox, but actually I feel like it looks most like a weasel, maybe a pine marten. My park got a name and a logo now. I thought it would be a nice touch to incorporate the castles outline in the logo.
