What did you do in Planet Zoo today?

Got the outdoorpart for the macaws and capybaras pretty much done, got a trio of capyabara and a flock of six blue and gold macaws in here. Didnt want to show of a modded animal this prominently, so ive put some of jaguar_xs eggpiece ones from the workshop in some of the places where ive hidden those custom perch/flying animation enrichtment items, so just imagine them flying up and down from there. Also put in some speakers with macaw sounds in here

Also spruced up the place with a couple custom signs and lighting

Slowly but surely filling up the place, started this pretty much a year ago and got two enclosures that are more or less finished, yikes.

I’m a little obsessed with all of this.

Did some work again on my little project, which I called "Amazone" (sorry lacking inspiration for a fancy name haha). The entrance is a bit simple at the moment, so maybe I will put in some more details later on. Currently I have bush dogs, white-faced sakis, capybaras and tapirs (will probably use the South American mod because of the amazon area). Not sure how I want to add the area, but I want to add one more "thing". Either an exhibit for ocelot or flamingos or a building with butterflies or sloths. Only problem I have with the WTE is that they are too big when you compare them to the buildings I already have. Maybe also a small plaza.

Bengal tiger forest habitat for my Indian area, turns out a tropical dry forest with no bamboo to fill in sightlines is a lot harder than thought.

Beginning work on the "Australia Outpost" in my San Ramentos Zoo, finally! Starting off with a female Koala habitat, there will eventually be a large indoor area and habitats for male Koalas, a walkthrough habitat for Kangaroos/Emus/Wallabies, a "bushwalk" aviary, and habitats for Cassowaries and Tree Kangaroos (implied).
I had the idea to have a huge elevated walkway pass through the outpost, but I don't want to stray too far from realism so I'm not sure if I'll keep it. I do like that it gets a bit more creative pathway-wise though.

Not much to show now, but I've got a lot of ideas so I'll be a busy bee in the coming days.
Experimenting very heavily with hills and sloping paths lately as well! There's a trick I use where I connect two bits of path on different elevations with the flatten terrain tool and 5m path, creates a nice slope very easily without any terraforming required (minus smoothing it out).

Hello!
Been a long time since I've been on here, finally have a desktop and can play!
Here's the start of a new project where I wanted the dark wooden railings with a stone path, so have used this stone piece to create a brick effect. Anyone have any better ways of doing something like this, or is this the price we pay as we improve our building skills?!😅
I could have gone for the stone path from the path selection and then added wooden railing pieces but I thought the curves in my railings might present more issues than making a stone path. (The stone path is now complete! will share when the scenery is more finished) If only we could mix railings and paths!😅

It is far from finished but wanted to show it anyways. As I find the WTE too big, I had to be a little creative, but found a way to make it appear more "small" and blend in with the rest of my project. 2/5 is outdoor and 3/5 indoor. Since it is such a big space, I will also add the nine-banded armadillo in this exhibit. They just need 196 m2 with two of them, so space whise it should be no problem. Thanks to the videos on Youtube I reallly start to see those WTE differently then only a big unusable box.

Thought i'd share a little before and after..!
I'm building part of this zoo on the side of a mountain and taking alot of inspiration from lots of images. Still lots of work to do on the mountain (tried covering in volcanic rocks but ended up looking really crazy! still exploring ideas with the rock work. Took a while to get the depth of the valley right for it to seem far away and I kept needing to take the valley lower and further away to achieve this effect.
Hidden along the trail so far are 4 habitats, babirusa, tapir, lion tailed macaque & japanese macaque,
Determined to stick with this build!

Todays progress on my mountain trail!
for the mountain I ended up using a mix of grey rocks, greenish-grey rocks, algae covered rocks, both rock terrains, roughen tool, chisel tool and finding the right balance of seeing rocks or plants. Definitely helped having reference pictures. Nice to finally get past this part of the trail for now! Should I turn the forest below into a reserve?! So far its just a view, but I could put some asiatic animals in there... :)

Yeees, definitely a reserve down there! :D Possibly with a ride through it? It's looking very good so far <3

Finally moving on to a different area of the zoo now that Tiger Forest is complete (for now, at least. I'm already having ideas for how to make it better but I'm putting my foot down and moving onto new stuff so I don't tire myself out with rebuilding for Tigers a 3rd time 😭) (I'll post a full tour of the area soon).
It's still kind of a WIP, but the past couple days I've worked on this little Koi pond and garden located just outside the zoo entrance. It's intended to be a serene little area that the future administration building conference room will look out onto. It was very refreshing to build an area that wasn't themed to look like a rainforest or Southeast Asia.

Also, it's dedicated to my girlfriend who loves Koi Fish! (and Capybaras, note the reward statue.)

You should start a YouTube series with speedbuilds for this Zoo, its looks incredible already

Thank you so much! That’s definitely something I’ve considered, I’d love to give full tours of the zoo and its progress in video form, get it out to a wider audience. I build so slowly and sporadically though that idk if speed builds would be something I could do properly haha 😄

Haha i understand that it Will take a lot of time what you are building! I can’t Wait for more updates of this zoo! Keep up the good work!!

Progress on the main Koala habitat, I want it to include another species as well given that it's bigger than I anticipated, but I can't decide between Wombats, Wallabies, or Quokka filling in for Brush-Tailed Bettong. Still a work-in-progress, as you can see from the indoor area having no walls 😅
