What did you do in Planet Zoo today?

I have just completed the Myer's Sunshine Thing on bronze. On my way to unlock all them stone statues  I'm really just going for the quick and dirty achievement, though. I love the scenario maps and the zoos they created, but I'm not really encouraged to play any further in them. Curious how the last ones (and the timed ones) will go, thank you all for your tips!

Yesterday I restarted Bookland Zoo and made the entrance. Tonight I restart Tierpark Murmeldorf and build the entrance.

I will have three projects at once then and I still have two other projects. So yes, it will slow down the process with any zoo. But I feel like it was the self-made restrictions ("You can't have more than one fresh project" "you NEED to build in another biome after a year!" , "You must not have x unfinished projects"), that killed my fun with this game.

So yes, three zoos for now, 1 with welfare on, 2 with welfare off to be able to build a somewhat realistc zoo (you know without heaters / coolers, a lot of plaster, more sand than the game would allow etc.).

You really got creative with various wall decoration pieces, especially your use of those SA pack pieces on the half wall in front looks really cool!

I agree with @SalamAnders, really nice ornaments!

I'm done unlocking all scenarios. Guess this will be enough, I think I'll only use the stone statues and not silver or gold. But I think I will try and challenge me with one of the timed scenarios tomorrow. I don't really like this rushed way of playing, but it's a nice distraction from building and creating. And the maps are really beautiful.

Thank you! :) I think I still have a long way to go with using pieces other than they are intended and think a bit more abstract, but I think I'm starting to improve.

The entrance area of my second fresh project is also ready. Even if the zoo is kind of low to medium budget, they spend a good amount of money modernizing the entrance area. The turnstyles are from the workshop, as I couldn't build those to save my life :D

Fun fact: With both zoos I'm not really sure which animal to add first :D

Same here! I'm right now trying to find my personal balance between realism and doability. And the other entrance is really nice as well!

Great job everybody. @Swjosdotschka are you looking forward to the proboscis monkeys? Their very unique to any monkey or primates in game. I thought they’d be neat to see in PZ someday but never really thought they’d actually make it in game.

I must admit, they are the one single monkey species I dislike :D But I know they were highly requested and I'm happy for everyone who wants to play with them. I usually try to make somewhat realistic zoos and zoos based in europe. As far as I know basically no zoo outside of South East Asia had success keeping Proboscis monkey. I might eventually use them in Unity, maybe. The fact that they enrich oragnutans is kind of tempting, I admit.

I hope one day the Gibbon will make it into the games. And hopefully a lot of small monkeys, like the golden tamarin, the squirrel monkey and such. They'd be good filler animals for tighter spaces.

Yeah gibbons would be nice. I’m still optimistic the gibbon will make a appearance in PZ. I think the rig and animations just require to much work atm and simply aren’t ready. I think a easy but maybe disappointing to a few solution is to give orangutan and gibbons some new enrichment items that feature branchiation like zt2 did in their game.

I've been preparing for Tuesday. Mostly trading animals so that I can get all the new ones fairly quickly. I haven't actually started to build anything for them, since I'm still working on prettying up my franchise zoos to upload to the workshop when the new update comes. I didn't realize how many "naked" shops and staff areas I left in some of my zoos that were focused on breeding, and am also realizing that I need to add the water temperature regulators to some that I haven't been in since the aquatic pack dropped.

I also managed to release 67 three-star antelopes for the community challenge along the way. I usually don't do as well with the star ones, but my first zoo had massive herds of pronghorns, springbok and thomson's gazelles that had been around for a long time, so that put me over the top. It was tough to see so many go all at once, but I think I have enough remaining ones to rebuild!

Only 51 hours left til dlc time!

Yeeha! I already made the decision to not work overtime next week, even though it's the last days before my holidays. Unless the office is burning. I plan to quit on Tuesday as early as possible and just start with the DLC (luckily, the commute from work to the game is exactly zero metres and involves "closing the laptop" and "starting the other computer" these days :D ).

Guys, I managed the Tanami Roadside Scenario on silver! It was surprisingly funny to do, I solved it in 1:36 hrs and it looks a lot better than the campaign parcs I've done. So I think I'll check out the other ones some day or other as well, although I really think the challenge is real. I can't believe people actually get gold here.

Aardvark time! I'm not sure if I should close the window on the wooden wall, but since people seem to enter the houses anyway to see the animals, I'm going to leave it open for now. I like the small caves under the train tracks. I hope the train doesn't make much noise and disturb the animals.

Great picture Aramar! Looks very nice.

My problem is landscaping. I have an idea in my head of what an exhibit should or could look like, but then I can't get the landscaping right.

Like the landscaping definitely could be better here. Feels incomplete. I will continue to work on it. And I do like making more traditional style zoo exhibits.

A pair of Formosan Black Bears have moved in and they seem to enjoy their high look out point. We definitely need a better selection of logs and bare trees. Could have used some for this exhibit.
