What did you do in Planet Zoo today?

Over the last week I have slowly been getting back to my long running desert project. What tend to happen when I get back to a park after a break is that I end up reworking areas rather than doing something completely new. I have turned the parks two first enclosures for pronghorn and wolves into one big habitat for bisons and a small bachelor group of pronghorns. A rather boring hut like building that separated the two enclosures before is now a simple but decent looking viewing shelter.
Otherwise I have been doing a little bit of detailing around the park and been working on some signs.

Edit: I just added the song "A horse with no name" to some speakers in the shelter and it is a perfect match!

I can relate with this so much. Happens to me every time I open an old park.
Nice signs btw!
The images for the signs are just from a Google search. There actually are for multiple deserts in that design which is great, but sadly the only North American one I can find is for the Colorado Desert and I think that gets a little too specific for my North American area

I am very proud to say that I had finished two time scenario's in gold today 🤩 ( okay,on easy mode, but still... lol) !
One in the first time, en the second a had to start over after 10 minutes or so because of a phonecall. ( mothers always ring on a bad moment...:ROFLMAO:)
But well, I have a few extra statues :D

Thought it would be fun to let Street Fox sponsor the (future) fennec foxes of the zoo, to start that of I made a café. Not completely sure where the small Sahara area of the park will be yet, so I saved it as a Blueprint to use whenever I find the spot. Considering uploading it to the Workshop, never tried that before.

Might still need some detailing

You could build it in a Way that People can watch them normally from the Outside but their Shelter with a big Viewing Window will be connected to the Inside of the Cafe so People can sit there enjoying their Coffee and watch the Foxes at the same Time

Today i granted the pangolins sometime, closing in into their completion. Im mostly done with their indoor habitat and today i finished some details like the bamboo fence and started work on their two outdoor habitats. For one of the two i want to go for a more natural look, while the other one is inspired by chinese gardens, but i still need to find out how to really do them justice. But here are my work in progress pictures

Pretty much finished the entrance last weekend.

Right behind the tunnel there'll be a huge parking lot with a restaurant and a reptilarium. I skipped some of that and I'm now working on the 1st open exhibit for Sumatran tigers. I love the karstic landscapes in my country and the exhibit, which should be one of the main landmarks of the zoo, will be based on that. I gotta say the whole thing is proving to be a greater task than I anticipated, but hopefully I'll be able to share the end result here soon.

Thats a super cool shot! Great idear

I have been back in Autumn Falls Park and have added the flamingos, and both the Arctic and timber wolves.

Circular, slightly African themed habitat, but other than that it's a pretty simple one. They have a separate, covered pool in the back where they hide away from the guests. It's a perfect solution to the ever stressed flamingos.

Timber wolves and Arctic wolves. Pretty basic habitats which could use some work. Maybe I'll go back and add more rocks and foliage.

I've been playing around with the entrance. It's better, but still needs some tweaks and changes. I can't quite make up my mind about which textures and patterns I want to use. I have put up a nice billboard where the leopard pattern is, but it sticks out like a sore thumb because it's so bright. I think I'll keep the trellis roof, but will change the brick to something else.

And here's a few shots of the path decorations. I really want to have a consistent autumn feeling throughout the park, especially with the trees. So I try to mix up the colours. Here on the right you can see some statues of wolves which indicates there's a Wolves Trail ahead. If you continue on the right you will get to the underwater viewing point for the grey seals.

Haven't done much today besides from some detailing. Felt like sharing an overview of the current state of 'The Dry Lands'. Usually when I share pics here, I try to find the angle that makes the content look the most finished. But now a lot of my unfinished projects will be visible!
Overview Dry.jpg

Take a look at my work in progress parking lot, my very empty elephant enclosure, my still expanding staff area or what about my cafe in the middle of nowhere?

I am really bad at getting something 100% finished, I usually end up somewhere between 40-80%, before I move on to the next project or go back to something existing to get another 5-10% done. This park have managed to evolve anyway and has become my longest running project in the game, and I am pretty proud of how far I have actually gotten with it.

Just wanted to share a bit of imperfection with you.

Honestly, thats the best way to work in the game. You always work better when you want to do something, so you should never force yourself to work on one specific thing, just to get it done. Its great if you do manage to finish one thing, but most of the time its better to just do some decorating here and some flowers there, aslong as you just feel like it. When youve done that everywhere at some point, everything will look beautiful and with a lot of polish!

Also, i have seen posts to this poject multiple times and gotta say, its one of the coolest ones we see here in the channel, so you really can be proud of yourself. The level of detail and thought with most of the stuff youve shown is amazing and just wow.
Keep up the great work, and nice to see an overview!

Today i build a bit on the exit of the tropical house. I decided to make an extra room, including a new exhibit for the oriental garden lizard, a cute and colorful agamid that lives everywhere between arabia and sulawesi.
I still struggle with building actual door, and oh boi i will have to do that, but for now the frame work for both entries has been set, now i just need to do a terrible doors and maybe fill the walls with some more education boards.

On the inside is the mentioned exhibit, as well as the entry into the main food kitchen of the house.

A better look at the tank. Tried to do a more rocky one this time.

And I pretty much finished the tiger enclosure. It has a couple of containing pens for male or ill tigers within the big actual exhibit. My inspiration for the landscape comes from the karstic area of "Las Médulas" in Spain.

How did you do that? 😲
Those Cages look awesome and especially those Mountains. I'm way too bad at creating Mountains no Matter if I do it with Rocks, Terrain or both

Remember those rocks in the first pictures i send today? Now they are finished!

One of the pangolin outdoor enclosures is finished, or atleast mostly done. With that about 2 thirds of the pangolins are finished, with the other outdoor habitat and some interior work left. I wanted to theme one around a more natural approach and one in the style of a chinese garden, what you are seeing here. I tried to get that charm by using a lot of rocks, aswell as sprinklers and a threeway fence of wood, stone and more stone, with flowers inbetween. I pesonally like it, eventhough it was quite the pain at times.

Behind the pangolins i want to put a habitat for ungulates, preferably pere davids deer, but because thats neither in the games, nor the votes it will propaply have been one, thats inhabitat by nyalas for now. I want to keep the garden flair and hopefully have a nice overlook from the pangolins.

Lastly i included a shot from the interior of the exit building i did today. It looks quite nice with the glass pieces, doesnt it?

Anyways thats it. I thought about uploading it in my own thrad, but decided against it, as i want to show of the whole little asia building at once for overall completion sake. Also i already havent posted for like a week their, so it can wait for a bit longer till i finished the building and the second pangolin habitat. Cheers
