What did you do in Planet Zoo today?

Sorry I'm late Mr. Hugo, Sir. (btw my mother named our backyard hegdhog Hugo)
I like to make a list of what should go into such areas. It also helps if you look at company premises on Googlemaps to get a feel for the layout. Areas that fit together sensibly should also stand together and areas where trucks have to drive, for example, should have larger areas for turning, etc. (My job suits me a bit; I'm not a city planner, but I know most of what's important)
In terms of design, I can give you the tip to save the walls and things you want to use in a group in the color you want. For each building complex you only copy the assembly group. So it doesn't seem restless.
Think about your zoo topic beforehand and google around a bit. I was looking for ECO buildings for my ECO Zoo. These are mostly made of wood and have a green roof. Many also use old shipping containers. Then add vertical planting for facades, solar systems and wind turbines and then everything comes together.
Thank you very much for the helpful and detailed answer, Mrs Fini 😊

I finally got on and took some screen shots, waiting to really play until 4pm my time for the anniversary event.
But I did get a pic of the Peccary habitat I made a few days ago.

I actually took some time to mix the terrain with varying the percentage. Usually I'm not this patient. So I'm a bit proud of this baby step.
Also, I might have a problem with losing money, I have to check. It may be from the fact that a Siberian Tiger walked straight through the glass a few times, last time it cost me nearly 50k in ticket refunds.

So I'm also going to participate in the tropical contest, and it's about how my classic tropical house (based on some greenhouses from the last century) is turning out.

And right now i´m doing some final touches (mainly in the outside)

Also its really fun to have multiple people build on the same building prompt at the same time and see each others progress over the day. It really encourages atleast me to try my best and to not slack behind the others, which in this case is mostly marvinb with his gorgeous build :)
And then there's me, slacking 😅
Did I not learn anything from the procrastination episode of SpongeBob?
It’s so nice to see so many people competing in the South America contest! I remember when I first started for the Temperate One and no one entered, and now look at us!
It's real fun, whether you're participating or not, because it gives the community something to do in between DLCs

Well, I release some 120 animals, and made it the 113th anniversary of my zoo. All while adding Red foxes, Egyptian Fruit Bats, Nile Monitors, and a Capybara/Maned Wolf exhibit, and a North African Zoo Entrance.
I did also move the difficulty down to easy, because between decorating, and some construction I am now below 1,000,000 for the first time in nearly 70 years.
Only quit for the night due to a lack of male reindeer on the market. Literally went 50 minutes with no males on pause.

A new challanger has approached but im noone to be scared of competition.
I mentioned in my last update that a deko session is all the peccary habitat needs, guess what i just did today.
Im very happy with how it turned out even if i couldnt stop my bison grass addiction, easily in the top 3 pieces in the game.

I also barely managed to keep it big enough for my 6 peccary, not that it matters much as im playing in sandbox but win

After sleeping over it, the weird and yanky parts of the fence also dont look that weird so im pretty cool with it
peccary3.jpeg

And for completion sake a shot from top of the hill. Its actually my favorite way to view the habitat so im very glad i randomly decided to just raise this area for more verticallity as otherwise a zoo mostly defined by its verticallity would feature non in the part for the building contest

Next update i hopefully will have decided on a design for the interiors planters and once thats done ill be racing through to the atleast partial completion of the south america house!

Finally finished an asian themed cafe, part of a large plaza im slowly working my way through. The sign for the cafe is made of 6 seperate custom media screens then bordered with a wooden trim. The zoo should update this area, there are no giant pandas in the zoo at all but the plaza is still entirely themed around them.

Guys, I need help with a gibbon habitat. I tried the islands design, it looked And just felt so off so I deleted it. Is there any other design out there that’s not as extravagant as an entire pond? 😅

If you don't want to do an entire island habitats there is an option for a simpler jungle habitat with climbing frames or climbable trees with vines attached throughout the habitat. The island design is so popular as it seems to be common zoo practise to have gibbons in an island habitat.

Did a bit more interior today, mostly boring stuff but i also started building my implied sloth "habitat" aka hanging up a bunch of ropes all around the interior for some added visual interest. Guess the sloth is just sleeping all day every day
s7.jpeg

Also for those asking why i dont use the ingame sloth, for one building for exhibits is still boring, the climbing frame is what would make a sloth fun and....
s8.jpeg

Yeah but the exhibits arnt super restrictive and insane and hidiously oversized guys, they just have a skill curve to them guys i swear im just to bad at this game totally

So yeah implied habitat it is, more fun to build, not whatever freak of nature the WE size is, no forced stray pathway and it wouldnt even be the right sloth anyways
I love this game but it defenetly still got ways to go

For once I have made something I don't have a thread for so I can post it here instead.
Cheating a bit since I didn't build this today. But it will be made public on the workshop today, hope that counts.
3 exhibits turned into 16 tiny terrariums for spiders. I did my best to match the squares up with where the spiders can spawn without glitching, though some of them will always stand empty. The fun part is that I have to go and look where the spiders showed up every time I load up the map.

Video and Blueprint will be online in roughly 1.5hours

Thats such a cool idear i love it!
Propaply the most creative use of an exhibit ive seen so far

Slowly but surly im making progress on the interior. Placing foliage in cramped spaces drives me crazy so i distracted myself and build a sleeping box for my very sleepy sloth in the holding area for the capybaras, both making that space more interesting to look at and not being filling planters, so win win
I also for the first time in ages build a custom sign and it was just as unfun as allways, but signage sadly is a part of a complete build.
I really wish we had more small pictures and signs to decorate custom signs as frankly like everything else in this game the signs are mostly all way way to big to be used for custom signs. Doesnt help either that my game runs smoothly on high grafic settings, animals and most scenery look gorgeous but everything signage related is a pixle blur sucking the fun even more out of it.
But hey the implied sloth build is very fun, really makes me realise what a shame it is that they arnt habitat animals, even if i understand why.
Two toed sloth + an update where they can use custom climbing frames really would be an attractive deal, just like th second gibbon and free brachiachtion was
