What did you do in Planet Zoo today?

I'm the complete opposite 😂 I tried to do a creative zoo build last year but got quickly bored and returned to making the 200th plaster backstage building that somehow my brain finds so much more exciting than creative habitat building.

I can refeel this in some way. Everytime I see great plazas and concrete habitats to make them look more man-made, I wanna build something like this too and end up building the same nature-heavy paths through forests to natural habitats with no concrete at all but wood with no end. :cautious:

I build a lot over the weekend. The live stream from the Pokemon Regional in Utrecht ran at the weekend and I was always able to build in PZ during the “breaks”. And there are a lot of and long breaks!
I finished the Giraffe enclosure (I would actually like to have one or two more species in the enclosure, larger antelopes like Kudus for example xD).

Then I built an enclosure for the black rhinos.

... and am currently in the process of building a canyon for the Lions. It's gotten a bit big again and I cut off a small part from it. Do you have any idea what kind of animal could fit in there?

And a little piebald Dromedary was born. Mother Jumpy is very proud of her son Unfug (Unfug means Nonsense or Mischief in english)

Nature is begging me to stop... Who doesn't want 100 variations and most likely many more of everything to throw on top of rooftops, suprisingly easier than i thought to make realistic roof accessories. Mostly filling my need for far too many rooftop pieces for both the houston and calgary zoo builds but the scope has expanded from just a handful of air conditioning units to an all in one rooftop collection.

I love your building style, its so gorgeous and yet so detailed with the backstage stuff i personally allways struggle with!
Its so simple yet realistic looking and thats just chefs kiss.

For the habitat, what about african wild dogs?
Underappreciated species that tends to get way to little love around here

So i didnt really know how to continue the entrance area and where to put the first animals, so i just started building random little scenes, vista points and decoration.
These two are my favorites. One of those lookout, hidey hunter things of which i do not know the english name, and will eventually go into the red deer exhibit. The other one is a rickety old shack with a waterwheel and aqueduct of which i found a really gorgeous picture on google and tried to recreate somewhat. No idea where its gonna go yet

Thanks! I actually never build backstage stuff, I always think it's a waste of time because it's always hidden and not seen, but this time it somehow turned out that way, others are always much more detailed then I.

That would be a good idea!
I have to see if they fit in because the doggos need more space in the game than the kitties. The enclosure was originally around 4000 square meters, so it could fit.
I also like the idea of the RRH from Aramar, they are planned for the zoo anyway and are already in the trading center.
I could also easily imagine a second lion enclosure. Maybe for 2 brothers.

Close enough 😂 Hunter's Hide or a raised blind would be the suitable english name if relating to a hunting purpose elsewhere it would be a watchtower.
First off, those look amazing!
Second, I’m not sure if this is a regional thing, but I’ve always referred to it as a Hunting Pulpit.

Preview of the original zoo entrance and gates that now lead into a backstage area. I have recently upgraded my laptop which is allowing me to go more piece heavy with better texture definition, the pillars alone are over 1000 pieces each. I am not sold on the paving slabs and may do these again with different pieces.

I’m considering possibly turning this project into a YouTube series further down the line.

I really like that fountain! And the lighting colors are nice too! Will we get to see inside soon?
Thanks! I had first a basic fountain and the penguin decorations were a separate sculpture inside of the building, but I started moving it around and finally decide to merge both things. It's simple but cool in my opinion.

And yes, I'll show the inside in a couple of days when I finish the last habitat inside 😊
