What did you do in Planet Zoo today?

My zoo will focus on the conservation of Pallas cats, and so I’ve built a… let’s say… a little 'support house' for this purpose to encourage the cats to have lots of little kittens.

I like it! And you just gave me an idea! Thanks a lot!
I will see it! 🥺

This is so cute!

I'm currently making a new franchise and gonna make it my next YT series. I already pre-recorded some stuff, and as soon as I record the talking bits imma upload...

To give y'all a heads-up, it's called Zoológico Isla la Sirena, roughly translated to Mermaid Island Zoo. It's set on the fictional Isla la Sirena off of the Mexican coast, near Cozumel (there are probably real islands called this, but mine is entirely fictional)
I do have a plan, but it's also gonna go with the flow

If you need a island map template hit me up, i spend like 4 hours making one 😂

Appreciate the offer.
I made one, but then I scrapped it and decided to just use the standard tropical map, because I'm theory the Island could be a larger island, like Cozumel😅

That and I also didn't like how my island turned out, but I may redo it. I put these stupid pyramids tryna make a cliffside and it looks so bad I felt like I was in 1st grade again in art class; not even the smooth terrain brush could save it. Get me some TNT

Ah gotcha. Im actually not using it for an island either, i just wanted to have an actual coastline without having land again where the map skirt starts 😄

Before I talk
Awesome job all of you and your builds above

In my Asia zoo I had sand cats in my nocturnal house. I had to redesign the nocturnal house and ended up removing the sand cats. I built them a habitat outside in the temperate section that the nocturnal house is also in. The desert vibe didn’t look right so I sold the cats and deleted the habitat. My taiga/desert area just isn’t right for the cats as it’s packed up enough.
Recently I took a look at an area that is suitable for building new habitats in the temperate section as I wanted to build a habitat for the upcoming Pallas cat. I was able to split this area creatively for the new Pallas cats, my hope for Tanukis and I decided I want to give the sand cats another chance. Got to find the right foliage/rock combo to make the area suitable as sand cats are a desert species and not a temperate.

Build a cute little bird area attached to the flamingo backstage over the last couple days. Got an aviary for kookaburra, one for kea and a larger mixed one for hornbill, peacock pheasant and waterhens. The later of which unintentional can actually walk over the waterplants because i used the fountain pieces for the water. There is supposed to be mesh, i just took it out for so you can actually see something on the pictures
Shoutout to lion and savannah for these amazing workshop signs :)

I resisted the urge to try and include platypuses in Tarrabah Conservation Centre for a while, but today I finally caved in and decided to take on the Sisyphean task of building a semi-realistic platypus house in franchise mode. After several hours of work and having to expand both the land and water area of the habitat multiple times, I finally managed to create a reasonable-looking habitat that just managed to fulfil all the requirements for a lone platypus.

If you wanna see what it looks like under the lid, here's an image I took before I chucked the roof on. The majority of the ridiculous land area that platypuses require in PZ is located backstage, connected to the main habitat by a tunnel of faux rocks.

As for the usual devil breeding update, things have been going well! Ngarra Jr as well as his stepsiblings Banalandju and Yeeralparil have all now produced offspring with their respective mates, the first litters of devils who were born in the zoo themselves. Funnily enough, despite Ngarra Jr being the oldest and the first to mature, both Banalandju (paired with male Monaro) and Yeeralparil (paired with female Luna) actually conceived and produced offspring first, with Ngarra Jr and his mate Alinta taking a little longer to reproduce successfully.

Oh, I also build this little grassy picnic area for the guests. It'll look better once there are trees surrounding it!
