What did you do in Planet Zoo today?

Since I wanted to change my foliage style, have decided to leave my old project for now and started a new one... The first exhibit of the zoo will be a splitted exhibit for meerkats and warthogs. As I want a more heavy foliage style, also the walls will be covered where possibile. The roof of the building will probably change and the walls are there just to keep the meerkats in to test the traversable area. Boy was I happy to see that blue line going inside!

Isn't that great when it happens. I was happy to see my armadillos were able to go underground and my tortoises/ peccaries could get into the cave/burrow system i made for them.

But for some reason they can't go into the burrows i made under the trees. Idc though, as long as they use the cave system.

Mixing warthogs and meerkats sounds fun. I've never seen that combo before.

I've seen it in The Netherlands and maybe think it is a safe combination to start the zoo with. It gives kids the feeling the are seeing the Lion King in real life and especially the meerkats are always fun to watch.

But I think the exhibit will be two parts, so not sure if they will be together, maybe some gates in between, that they can be separated. Think in small exhibits that the warthogs might damage the tunnels the meerkats are burying, so only working if you have some concrete tunnel system underground.

I'm finally, finally back in the game after a huge motivation and building crisis.😅
I started a new zoo today, so my old project is on pause for now. After the release of the Zookeeper's DLC I had the idea to use the beautiful map Frontier created and turn it into a small city zoo. And that's what I will do.
I removed everything of inside the zoo of the scenario but left the surroundings as a background. This pre-made map is so helpful as I don't really see myself starting completely from scratch and doing all the surroundings myself. Having something already to start with is what I need right now.
Anyways, today I started building the entrance with the small ticket offices.

The zoo doesn't have a name yet, the most obvious choice would be Cambridge Zoo Gardens or sth similar.

Attempted unsuccessfully to mix almost every other North American canid with Timber Wolves, including mods. They attacked any other wolf species or subspecies I tested them with including Arctic Wolves, Mexican Wolves (mod), Algonquin Wolves(mod), and Red Wolves (mod). I kept getting a Predation warning when I put coyotes (mod) or Red Foxes in with the Timber Wolves to test it, although I never actually saw the Timber Wolves ever attack the full-grown foxes or their kits. However, the coyote (mod) did kill one of my fox kits, so I had to exit the game without saving to bring him back to life and now I also know I can't put coyotes (mod) and red foxes together either. I didn't try the Kodiak Red Fox (mod) or the Gray Fox (mod) with the Timber Wolves because they're both built around the game's Red Fox and its behaviors and codes as far as I'm aware. I also never tried an Arctic Fox with the Timber Wolves yet but have a feeling I'd probably get the same Predation warning I got when I tried to mix the Timber Wolves and Red Foxes together.

Have continued the work on the new zoo/first exhibits. The side with the feeding station is not finished yet, but really like how the building is blending in so far in the exhibits. Before I always hated buildings, because the never fitted in, but watching some videos on YouTube really gave me some good inspiration! The warthog exhibit will be more dry/muddy.

Workshop items used by Toves (the two gates in the warthog exhibit) and LideR (feeding station for the warthogs)

My new zoo got a name: Cambridge Zoo Gardens!
I made some progress on the entrance area and added dromedary camels as the first animals. The special thing is they can be seen from outside of the zoo as well to serve as a little teaser and to actually drag people into the zoo.
The enclosure is still under progress but I like how it's coming together so far.
