What did you do in Planet Zoo today?

On subject, I haven't played much lately. I've been going back and forth between home and out of town because I just lost my grandfather to brain cancer last Sunday; I just saw him the week before.
Maybe I will get the chance today, maybe not. Not sure yet
I'm sorry to hear that. I wish you and your family all the best.

I have "not done" anything. Had enough cleaning up (and now sore muscles ...). My PC moved from the guinea pig room to my bedroom, because of all the dust from the bedding! And so all my guinea pig stuff, what was on the first floor, had to go at the ground floor and all my crafting stuff what was below above. I don't want to know how often I'm up and down the stairs.
Yesterday evening I made a bit progress on the Moose habitat, but its not worth to share at the moment. I hope next week i had little more time and motivation.

Crafty stuff? Wait, did you already tell what kind of craft you do? Did I forget? I'm all ears. ^^

I don't think I'm told
I have a big motivation problem. I have always big plans, but i'm only doing a fraction of it.
Is actually exactly the same as I play PZ. Start a lot, never finish it.
Actually, I just manage to get the seasonal decoration ready. :ROFLMAO:
I can't tell you exactly what I'm doing in particular. I have a bit of everything. What I've always done was painting. Mostly with acrylic, the copics (the cheap one) are new, then I sew, I have a soft spot for deco paper and I want to try my hand at this modeling clay. With the crowds I have at home, I sometimes feel like a Messi. :ROFLMAO:
Long story short: most for decoration at home (i love deco, i'm the deco-queen!)

I didn't recognize that you craft too? What do you do? - Hopefully you'll be a bit more organized and not as headless as me 😅

Sounds fun. My best friend, she paints, and she gave me a beautiful gray fox painting that I have hanging in my office.
Me? I can't draw squat (she says I'm not bad, but I don't know).

Lately, I've gotten really interested in vivariums, and I plan to build them as a new hobby, maybe even sell some for a bit of cash; it looks fun to do

Sounds awesome. I'd love to see it
If you go on YouTube, there's a channel called SerpaDesigns. The guy builds t errariums, sometimes from scratch. Now, I'll never be him, but it does give awesome inspiration and shows that it's not that hard: he builds nice enclosures for way cheaper than buying a starter kit at a PetSmart.

My personal favorite is the jumping spider one because he builds a neat little home out of an everyday acrylic box he found. (But I don't want a spider, I want tree frogs and fish to coexist. Maybe a mantis in another tank? I have too many ideas)

Oh no, I hope your partner is okay again @jcp011c !

I love your fence! Would have never thought of that idea. And I highly encourage fellow players to also share the little things here. We all have those days where we can not do much and I sometimes feel discouraged when everyone is only sharing their biiiig, ready projects. I think we should all share small progress and small project stuff, to remind us from time to time that this also counts and that on crazy days like you had PZ can be SO relaxing and heloing you get your mind off bad things. It's not always the big, challenging, time consuming monster we all love. ;)
Thank you for the kind words, all around. I agree, sometimes smaller things can also be really nice to have. I may not be a great builder, but I'm more confident with smaller creations - my dome project from a few weeks ago is a bit much for me lol. I think the fence turned out nice and it's already got a few downloads so I'm adding in the link - mods if not allowed, I apologize and please remove the link if that's the case.

Interesting. Did only know that he makes Ecospheres but I might take a closer Look at his Channel

I mostly make cards. :) Have some crafty framed pieces, but not much.

My Instagram name where I share my cards is cardsandcoke

I was hoping to play some Planet Zoo today, but am more coughing than breathing (Asthma, not covid), so no PZ for me today. I have to say, I am stuck again with Golding. This Zoo seems to be a problem child, really. -.-

Sounds good, I haven't Instagram, but maybe i can check it out anyway.

Asthma is mean...
do you know why you struggle with Golding? or is it just a feeling... maybe it's time for a change of perspective.
When I have the feeling "ok, this zoo has no future" I leave it behind and start with a new approach.

Hmm, maybe the concept? I don't know.
When I started Golding, I had a highly themed high budget zoo in mind that has lots of buildings for rent when you want to have a big event. It was based on one of my book characters, who is an event menager.
I started with creating a Geo zoo, so a zoo divided into regions by continent. As always with me, that failed. So I wanted to use a more loose theme when deviding the sections and started with the "Place World". I still have a few habitat left before going to a new section (which I even don't know what it will be, yet), but everything feels wrong and not like something I stand behind.

I could just work on Wingburg and Murmeldorf, but then I'm missing a highly themed high budget zoo. I miss unity, who had the perfect dividing into sections for me, but that's just flawed because I learned so much in between and rebuilding almost everything within the zoo feels so overwhelming.

OK, I don't quite understand the concept, but that doesn't matter. 😅
I also failed because of my geozoos, even when I planned them down to the smallest detail, I never got beyond the first section. Only when I have resolved this obsessive "but now you have to make the desert" did it suddenly slip. I only build what I feel like doing.
It may help you to choose 3-5 animals per biome for the Geozoo beforehand and to come up with a concept for these animals individually and not see the zoo as a whole.
It's a bit like the painter who is afraid of the blanc canvas.

It's more that I get bored with Geozoos and for whateer reason can't simoultanously build more than one section when it comes to Geo-Zoos, but if went quite perfectly with Unity. :D

A friend now suggested to just start Unity from scratch. Ugh. I don't know yet. Sounds kind of fun, but also kidn of repetitive and I feel soooo bad abbondining another zoo. Even though I know I'm in good company with this behaviour. :D

Maybe I'd like to rebuild Unity but with different sections... just have to figure out which.

Moo, or something. I don't know.

I have been lucky enough to put some time in now and then. For some odd reason making mountains and getting snow all over them has almost become an addiction (hopefully at some point, I will make a habitat without it)

So I went on to make a much much to large Dall Sheep habitat, but I guess it was alright and feels right at home in my much to natural with much to large habitats in it..

Just a silly extra screenshot, I had to make something where guest could eat/drink/etc. Still abit fun to make.

Soooo.... yes, I will start Rebuilding Unity and dump Golding for now. Lol. After just doing a bit habitat. Whatever. Practice or something like that.

Today i started a new zoo. Took a week (or more?my feeling of time is like a dead pidgeon. dead) or so off from planet zoo, cause eventhough i got over the disappointment quite quick, it stung a little seeing the now not anymore Friedrichsfelde savefile.
Nevertheless, today i did some terraforming and started working on the entrance. Nothing special, but i like how the ticket booths turned out (even though im seeing just now that the upper crest want part of the group and didnt copy).
On the front you can see the three mascot animals of the zoo, the lions, penguins and elephants and my desperate wish for more animal signs.
I also changed up the layout a bit, as the last one was going up a hill, this one will be surrounded to one side by a hill side, which will be used for some nice layerd habitats.
Thats all for today, lets hope that this zoo will come even close to rival my deleted one or even surpass it entirly ;)
