What did you do in Planet Zoo today?

Decided not to do bongos yet, and added gemsbok instead. A fairly simplistic hervivore habitat. In the background you can see their off-display pen which is parallel to the access roads behind the paddock. The animals can't reach the moat because I despise seeing them constantly swim, but they have a water feeder up against the shelter.

Aaaand I'm done!
The elephants have moved in and enjoy their new home:

And because my guest were complaining that they were hungry and wanted gift shops (how dare them?) I made a little area next to the entrance of the elephant house with food stals and gift shops. And I placed two ATMs inside the elephant house, so at leat now the guest will actually enter it and not turn around ans leave to go into the tropical hall right next to it

I'm amazed by all your creations!

I had a hard time being creative lately, but today I jumped back into the game and finished the Alpine Ibex habitat which is located in the Europe area, next to the badger castle. I admit that I found the European species and especially the Ibex a bit boring to begin with, but I really like how this corner has turned out. I would love some typ of horse, donkey or other domestic animals now, they would fit perfectly.

I then decided to tackle the roof in the back of the Prairie Dog Café habitat, which was a bit messy. Didn't bother to detail it too much, but I think it is a lot better now. Next up I will turn to the African section and add Aardvarks, but I'm not sure I'll continue today.

Next bigger project will be a large lemur house, because we now have an ongoing inside joke about lemurs at work which results in me sending a "cute lemur of the day picture" into our group chat every morning. So I think I should honour those animals! (This is also how I found out that a coworker of mine is also playing the game. PZ connects people! :D)

Hi all !
Today I've built my Indian Zone, "Le Gange" ! I love to put verticality and underwater views !
My elephants have a tunnel under the classic building (where there is the waterfall item) where they can reach another big part of the habitat, with a more "chinese" look !

The last few days I concentrated on Wingburg again. Currently re-building the llama habitat, after I finished a mixerd species habitat of Springbok and African Buffalo. After I spend my last weeks building in the highly seemed Unity, it's refreshing to build in classic medium budget Wingburg again.
But I am at a point where I REALLY wish we had official news or at least a good leak of what would be comming next. Basically I want to know if we get a bird pack or not. Wingburg would be very fitting for birds, but I want them spread out through out the park and would plan my building accordingly.

Anyone else always feel a bit anxious with their projects with upcomming DLCs? Honestly, I still want DLCs and support for five more years, but the end of support has one plus: I could finally plan zoos without having a big patch of DLC animals in one area.

Finally, I have pictures! A few from my new Desert Dome, featuring 6 habitats and 5 exhibits!

Sometimes I am, but in this case it won't affect me too much. I'm only very slowly making my way through Africa, and I'm sure the next pack won't be Africa-themed again, and even if there are African animals in it, I've barely done enough to need to make changes.

Those Rock Formations are so amazing. I definitely need to experiment with the Inclusion of the Fake Trees in Rock Structures👍
Also had a Mine in the Western Adventure Area of my first Zoo after Beta. If I remember correctly Snakes and other small Desert Animals were kept in there and on the other Side of the Mine Shaft, there was a rusty Fence (used a Barrier with Flexicolor) where the Guests could look into the Pronghorn Enclosure

I love Geo-Zoos IRL, but can't stick with them in PZ. Always bores me after a while. And it always annoys me when a DLC comes out and I can't use it for forever. That's why I build my zoos always a little different and when with sections, with abtract and pretty open ones.

On a different note: Can someone recommend a Restaurant building speedbuild or tutorial? I also need one for american alligators.

I completely understand that feeling. Fortunately most of the zoos I've build have kind of had a regional organizational, so with the last two DLCs it worked out well to be in NA and Europe sections (for the ones I've actually built that out). And of course, as I did with meerkats, I've also built in Capybara habitats for when they eventually are added, so their addition won't feel out of place. I've also mostly left my Oceania section open ended on at least one side, so that when we (hopefully) get more animals I can fit them in without an issue as well.

But otherwise, absolutely. I've built out those regional areas and now the new animals will end up being in a clump most likely, or cramped in somewhere I can squeeze them in. I'm definitely wanting years and years of content, but I can see the point of having the complete collection eventually, and knowing what you have is all you're getting. Dont' read too much into that Frontier, more content greatly outweighs that feeling by far!

Feeling really uninspired at the moment. Deleted my tropical zoo as I got fed up with the guests being fed up with the heat. I opened my taiga park but I need to scrap loads of it and still can't face tracking down all the bins and benches ATMS etc and deleting them all one by one so I quickly closed it again. Urgh!

Sooo... I built an american aligator habitat. It's the very first time I have a "crocodilian" (what's the right bilogical family name if it isn't reptiles?) in my game. Still not too sure with the habitat yet. It's an outside habitat and when I researched I saw a lot of outside habitats for american alligators, but never saw one in real life, probably because that wouldn't be püossible in germany?

Also feel a bit uninspired. In all my hobbies. The world situatons seem to weigh on me a little more than usual.

Crocodilian is the right name to use, even though it is an order instead of a family :)

I have heard about a few zoos with outdoor enclosures for alligators in northern/central Europe, pretty sure there is or at least used to be one in Germany. We got one here in Denmark as well. I believe they all house them indoors over the winter though. I hope that was somewhat the information you were looking for.

Definitely, thank you.
I mean, honestly, I don't use the weather so game wise it's not a problem. I build them a shelter, but since it got no pool inside, I think IRL it won't work.
I normally go by only a bit of realism, but with this habitat I'm torn.

Can you create an indoor viewing gallery that includes the shelter and part of the water? I watched a video recently which had something like that but I can't remember where. I'll see if I can find it.

It should be realistically possible. They are very cold resistant. They won't move much during Winter, so most Zoos probably prefer keeping them inside because it's more interesting to watch
