What did you do in Planet Zoo today?

It should be realistically possible. They are very cold resistant. They won't move much during Winter, so most Zoos probably prefer keeping them inside because it's more interesting to watch

I think the issue with European winter is that it tends to go very up and down in temperature. Animals that can be cooled down like that usually find a spot that holds a fairly stable temperature. This can be difficult to replicate in an outdoor enclosure. Most facilities that let their reptiles and amphibians ''hibernate'' (which I believe isn't always the right term for these kinds of animals) will often do it in a temperature-controlled room or even a fridge in some cases.

hibernate
The correct term is "brumate". My blue-tongued skink does it, but it's not the same as hibernation. They'll sleep when it's cold but as soon as the temperature gets up a bit they'll come out looking for food/water. It's kind of annoying because sometimes she won't actually eat, but obviously I have to try feeding her anyway just in case, so a bowl of stinky puppy food has to sit there for three days (they've got strong guts, too).

Today (well yesterday to be precise) i used the custom height maps for the first time. Pretty happy with how it turned out!

Sooo... I built an american aligator habitat. It's the very first time I have a "crocodilian" (what's the right bilogical family name if it isn't reptiles?) in my game. Still not too sure with the habitat yet. It's an outside habitat and when I researched I saw a lot of outside habitats for american alligators, but never saw one in real life, probably because that wouldn't be püossible in germany?

Also feel a bit uninspired. In all my hobbies. The world situatons seem to weigh on me a little more than usual.

Can you create an indoor viewing gallery that includes the shelter and part of the water? I watched a video recently which had something like that but I can't remember where. I'll see if I can find it.
I couldn't find the video, sorry

Hi all !
Today I've built my Indian Zone, "Le Gange" ! I love to put verticality and underwater views !
My elephants have a tunnel under the classic building (where there is the waterfall item) where they can reach another big part of the habitat, with a more "chinese" look !

Woooow I love it! So many details, and the foliage with the tiger is amazing!

Anyone else always feel a bit anxious with their projects with upcomming DLCs? Honestly, I still want DLCs and support for five more years, but the end of support has one plus: I could finally plan zoos without having a big patch of DLC animals in one area.

Not really, at least not BEFORE the DLC is announced. My struggle always starts after they tell us what the new content is, because then I want it immediately.

Finally, I have pictures! A few from my new Desert Dome, featuring 6 habitats and 5 exhibits!

Great work! And the fennec foxes are the cutest species in the whole game, I think.

Got to watch this right away!

I really found playing the game a very soothing distraction today, from everything that is going on. I made the Aardvark habitat next to the Meerkats, to round up my current African / Desert section of the zoo. To the right of this area, I want to do the lemur hourse, but I need some inspiration for a "filler" habitat or building inbetween to make a transition from the desert to the tropical area. But I really want to do a jungle habitat now, I went to the botanical garden today and it was so inspiring!

Almost finished the Kids Corner in my Wildpark but after needing a Eternity to get rid of 80 sick Peafowl, which made me lose all my Money, I needed a Break from the Game. Decided to play a Game again that's still in Development, which I didn't play for Years but something in that Game made my trashy Power Supply Unit loose one of the Cables again and I couldn't figure out yet what's wrong (never buy that Trash from Seasonic. It's Hell). If I can figure out how to fix it, I'll probably upload Pictures of the finished Kids Corner tomorrow.
Also uploaded the Restaurant I've built there to the Workshop because someone wanted it as a Blueprint

After my short holidays, today I kept working on the African section of my zoo. Opposite the hyenas, there's a mixed habitat with zebras and ostriches. I tried to make a habitat that doesn't have a square shape like most of my habitats do.

I hope you like this habitat just like me the ibex one of the most realistic looking animals in the game I love them so much! So I have been working on this habitat for 5 days and there are also some things I have not shown in the pictures because it is not yet 100% finished. The inspiration for this habitat it was in the picture I did not find to put here it was in a place in nature. So I really hope you liked this habitat and I would love to hear from you what you guys think of this habitat plus what animal would you like to see in a zoo? I'm planning to either build a habitat for lynx or do a rebuild for fallow deer. Also soon there is a new dlc so I want to finish soon with most of the animals from europe dlc and then maybe it's possible the moose or something like that but it's not urgent for now lol ..
Hope you have a wonderful day🐏

That looks fantastic! Great job. And thanks for the reminder of the Ibex reward statue. I not a fan that the reward statues don't appear in the normal "statues" section in the construction tab.

I placed side walk barriers during my play hour this morning. And I really need to redo the alligator habitat, am totally not happy with it.
On a side note: Gosh, Wingburg seems so cramp packed. From above it looks like the guests barely have a moment to breathe from exhibit to exhibit. Then again, if you consider the scale and the walking spead of the Planco people, it maybe isn't that bad?

Almost all habitats also have their dedicated viewing path, so no "traffic" issues, except for the Savannah habitat with Springbok and Waterbuffalos.

Thank you! I'm so glad to hear you liked, yes I also do not get too much out of using reward statues but I think my favorite reward statue is of the ibex is so cool!

It turned out that my Graphics Card might be defective, so I probably won't be able to show the Things I wanted to show once they are finished (was so close to finishing that Kids Corner and taking Pictures of everything there, including the Puppet Stage and the Coloring Table). The preinstalled Graphics Card Driver from Windows 10 seems to work but no matter how I install the fitting Driver for the Card (Driver Booster, Software from the Website of the Manufacturer, Windows Update), it always ends with a black Screen. I hope even if Planet Zoo and many other Games most likely don't work, I'll at least be able to play some old Games if I can get them to work on Windows 10. Of course I'll still be active in the Forum
