What did you do in Planet Zoo today?

Worked a bit on one of my backstage areas in my RNG zoo. Wouldn't call myself a master architect just yet but I do think my ability to make decent-looking buildings is improving here and there over time!

And then one of my animals to place is the African Penguin, and I figured it would be fun near the sea lions as they can share a sort of palm-beach aesthetic.

I also decided to fill in a spare corner with a little pond:
I might be able to repurpose this area for some animal or other later down the line, but I'm perfectly happy to spread things out for the moment and just leave this as a nice little bit of nature for now.
Looks really nice. I like the Inclusion of the Pond and the Hill behind the Sea Lion Cliffs Eatery fits greatly into the Landscape. I almost never use Height Variations outside of Enclosures because I'm bad at creating Hills and Mountains and I also often don't know how to incorporate them into the Landscape

Thanks! I love playing around with height variation, it can make for some neat viewpoints! I set out a rough terrain for myself before I started building anything else, and I think trying to fit stuff into places where there are already different elevations and other terrain features makes things feel a little more natural. Well, that's the theory, anyway!

What wall set is that you're using in the backstage area/penguins? Looks awesome, but I don't recognise. Is it from the Twilight pack? I haven't fully researched it yet.

I had a go at another lynx enclosure. The rock didn't feel right for this kind of zoo but I might add some along the back instead of the fence and see how it looks.

The baby had me up at 4.30 this morning so I decided to use that time and do some more work on the tigers. I'll call this a sneak peak:

The right-hand side habitat turned out bigger than the middle so I'm giving it to the white tigers. Middle will be female+cubs, left will be male. The female tiger is also in next door. Tonight I just need to do the male habitat, finish up the backstage building, landscape a little, and add the education boards and other decor to the viewing areas, and then it's done! Finally! If I have any motivation left after that I have a space near the entrance of the zoo I'm thinking of using for binturongs.

Wow i love the rock wall in the back and I love the foliage work and making like a pathway for them.

Thanks! For the foliage I use the "clumping method"; choosing a pallet of plants and then applying them in 'clumps' strategically around the habitat. The dogrose bush is a perfect temperate substitute for tropical foliage and definitely one of my favourites and I definitely over-use the common saltwort as a filler.

With the rocks, the random rotation button is a true gift. 😅

Is a little bit funny but accidentally realistic, the piebald proghorn are only a little poblation in franchise mode from a few animals so all the piebald have almost the same "ancestors" so is difficult find a good male/female with differents ancestors, i have a pretty big herd with a lot of generations
is funny because this happens in the real life with the rare color morphs and the people want to have more, one example of this is the white tiger

🤔 How exactly does it work? Is it purely coincidental to get a Piebald Animal? Unless of course the Ancestors carried the Gene. Or can you also improve the Chance by letting leucistic and normally colored Animals breed with each other?

Waffle House. Or Awful Waffle as known by some. I liked it. A good greasy spoon. Cannot eat it these days my body can't handle that assault lol.

As always really nice 👍
Are those the Tiles from the Africa Pack? I think I've never seen them before. Might be even a bit more versatile than I originally thought

Ha they serve salad...deep fried.
As someone who never was in a Waffle House I don't know if that's a Joke or not and this slightly disturbs me😅

Reminds me of the endless jokes here in Scotland that McDonald's started to sell salads to appeal to healthier types ..... in a fast food restaurant

And the tiger habitats are done. So, as explained before, I have three habitats; in the one on the right, there are three white tigers, all female. My lore is that they were rescued from a circus act and now act as sort of mascots for the zoo. Then the middle habitat currently holds my male and female regular tigers, but when the female gets pregnant the male will be moved into the left habitat. In behind, you can see a separation habitat as well, which is deliberately plain. My next order of business will be to plant the crap out of the area at the back where the access road comes in from the magical invisible carpark.
