I absolutely, irrevocably, utterly oppose any idea of microtransactions. If the company wanted to put out something that improves the game (DLC, expansion), gives a side quest or item (as an example, ship skins) that is not likely to affect the rest of the game, adds some solid value to the product, or anything of that type, sure.
That same company makes it possible to purchase one of their selling points for their product to enable customers to skip the effort of accumulation, absolutely not. If that happens, then I insist that you should be able to buy 'bounty kills', 'smuggling goods', 'piracy kills,' 'rare items,' 'ships,' 'ship parts,' 'invulnerablility,' 'unlimited fuel,' 'unlimited jump,' 'auto-sell at 1,000,000,000 credits,' 'auto-buy at 0 credits,' 'guaranteed stock of all commodities,' 'full system scans,' 'reputation,' 'never wanted status,' 'unlimited multicannon munitions that never requires refilling when firing,' 'insta-gib,' 'automatic quest success,' 'auto-fly to new destination,' 'insta-mine,' 'insta-fly to new destination,' 'zero-lock on,' (so no one can get a bead on you) and 'always awesome quests from the bulletin board,' and that's for starters.
Why make the game cause you to have to do anything, when you can just have the game do it? The NPCs get some of these, and fighting people is hard, and those anacondas sure have a lot of plating and shields.
Please, just no.

Clearly on the fence about the idea of buying credits in the game.
