Here you go. Actually I found that due to the extra thickness of the Teflon sheet the tensioning bar was not needed and the friction can be adjusted by tightening the retaining strip screws +/- finger tight.
ps. note the makeshift Teflon strain relief loop securing the USB cable in the top-right of the first photo. Do this first otherwise the weakly soldered wires may come away while you are disassembling and fitting.

That's just what I was hoping for, thanks. I've ordered some teflon from ebay, a solution that means I can remove the sprung tension bar would be ideal.
The grease I currently use is Silver Hook waterproof silicone grease (SGPGT90), it's just a general lubricant but did the job just fine - I've just worn my runners out from thousands of hours of use but the teflon solution will hopefully take up that slack. Still won't fix the pot spiking though
