What joystick/controller do you use?

Here you go. Actually I found that due to the extra thickness of the Teflon sheet the tensioning bar was not needed and the friction can be adjusted by tightening the retaining strip screws +/- finger tight.

ps. note the makeshift Teflon strain relief loop securing the USB cable in the top-right of the first photo. Do this first otherwise the weakly soldered wires may come away while you are disassembling and fitting.

pps. eBay Teflon seller example:

That's just what I was hoping for, thanks. I've ordered some teflon from ebay, a solution that means I can remove the sprung tension bar would be ideal.

The grease I currently use is Silver Hook waterproof silicone grease (SGPGT90), it's just a general lubricant but did the job just fine - I've just worn my runners out from thousands of hours of use but the teflon solution will hopefully take up that slack. Still won't fix the pot spiking though ;)

X52 Pro which has lasted well though the cable connector failed (soldered a heavy duty replacement onto it). Backup is a T-Flight HOTAS X that I used before getting the X52. That works great too.

I try to see the lack of buttons of the X as an advantage more than a shortcoming, it goes along well with my deficitary memory in trying to remember lots and lots of buttons.
I never said I could remember what all the buttons actually do..I just like buttons

PS4 console only native hotas allowed.. All the rest are DS4 emulation...
Thrustmaster T Flight Hotas 4.. No yaw issues, no dift issue....
( but every single button requires different pressure level, none are the same, even the digital buttons are different pressure levels... )
DS4 controller via remote play app on PC for slow gameplay ( Every thing but combat )

USB keyboard for text entry and ESC menu usage on PS4 (back light for night time play)
Kindle fire tablet running Second screen app used to C&P multi locations that are way to long stupid science naming systems in to galaxy map..
USB track ball for PS4 Elite dangerous web store, checking on PS4 item prices and wish list ( time is running out for that system due to update due, boo)...

Virpil WarBRD base with Warthog grip, and Warthog throttle.

That WarBRD base is SOOOO much better than the Warthog!

What do you like about it? The Virpil system is pretty expensive but I don't necessarily mind the cost if it's worth it. I don't need a twist stick, but I do want extra controls for my right fingers to be able to use and a more ergonomic shape than my current T16000 stick, with the same or better resolution & robustness I currently have.

The movement is much smoother and more accurate. I've also got a Virpil grip for it, but actually prefer the Warthog grip, but it does mean missing out on the twist function. Plus it's an all metal construction, no plastic components internally.

I was also having quite severe sticktion issues with the Warthog. I've tried sanding and re-greasing it, but it still had issues.
