Well I became Elite using one of these the first time. Are there plans to make them compatible?
I'll be using a 360 wired controller as well. It's all I've ever needed for many PC games. It sometimes bemuses me to see the money players are spending on controllers for games like SC. Expensive HOTAS systems and Occulus Rifts are all well and good, but it doesn't mean you won't be outclassed by someone with a basic mouse and keyboard.

Whatever floats your boatI'll be using my X52 Pro because its what I use for Military, and flight sims. It not only feels good to use, but adds to the immersion of the game.

I have sore thumbs from too many years of PS2, now my arthritic bones can only handle a mouse and keyboard.
These are VERY hard to get sue to some shortages, Im struggling to get any Saitek device.... hoping for that Warthog...

Seems a few are going for keyboard/mouse, i was quite good using keyboard only on org Elite but i think am going Xbox controller this time round, but a quick go on keyboard for ED to see how same/worse/better it will be is def on the cards![]()
There are times when keyboard just is quicker through trained muscle response I guess. XP was magical at doing stuff faster with shortcuts. Win7 I never learned them all. I tried out FPS games online with a controller and got smashed, quickly. Went back to awsd and a good wireless mouse and was at least able to appear competent.
Might be that most of the game is keyboard/mouse and combat is a switch, kinda like I'd expect to have to do in real-life, if I had a space ship.
I think whats doing it for me is when you see the devs using the Xbox controllers, must be reasonable good if they are almost all using them, might be an office thing though, and they change preferences if they could play back at home perhaps?
Agree with trained muscle response though, i found my responses quicker after constant use, just using the slightest of touches and subtle button movement for getting that right speed in combat, following a target, or even that dreaded docking!
