Oh my, that's quite a setup... pity my office will be converted into a child's playroom in the foreseeable future... makes me jealous. *sigh* ;)

I'll use my Alienware notebook, my trusty Logitech Attack 3 joystick and the Occulus Rift... as soon as it is available.

I'd love a full simpit, but don't have the space (bit of irony there!!) Maybe when I win the lottery?

Most of this lot I bought second hand - All the monitors were about £40-£50 each. The rest of the kit and components I bought a bit at a time, at the lowest price I could find. The PC is actually an evolved rig that started life in a completely different form in 2005! I built it all myself, and I only found out how to build PC's from YouTube videos. I do enjoy building PC's, but only top end gaming monsters of course!

Here's the rig in action...

And if its blocked where you are, here's a video with no sound...

Again impressive watching your YT vid, love the hyperspace screensaver, wouldn't mind that myself, you recommend any particularly one?

Actual joysticks are getting rarer these days.

Apart from Xbox and PSThree Controllers, I can't find any in stores.

I have been looking on line and found some of the ones featured here on this thread.

Some of the prices are ridiculous though at more than $400.

Some prices are more reasonable at $30-90.

I remember using the old Atari 2600 Joystick for my old C64 version, and then it broke on me.

I hope these newer and more expensive joysticks are more durable.

I also remember buying a large joystick that works as -a ball in socket in a roller- for playing Privateer and that game was disappointing.
I don't know where this Joystick is now.

You'd think with all the money Frontier Development have made from crowd funding for this game, that they would come up with own Official Elite - Dangerous Joystick/Controller for the game.

I think that would have been nifty.

I wish I was English like my hero Tj.
If you had asked me a couple of years ago if I'd consider playing a space game without a stick I would have flatly said no. Nowadays I might just go mouse/keyboard or XBox controller. I have a really old stick anyway and would rather spend money on OR or other goodies.

Yes some sticks can be expensive (or overpriced) but some of the cheaper ones arnt too bad like the Thrustmaster 1600. It is a shame that Microsoft bailed out of the joystick market as a FFB hotas set up would be a big seller. I plan to get a WartHog before Christmas. I should have bought one earlier but instead got a Logi G940 which was a big mistake. If you are going to be using your stick a lot even a £300 stick/throttle works out at £2 (the price of a bottle of beer) a week for 3 years and they last a lot longer than that.

I'm really glad I didnt sell my old microsoft sidewinder precision 2 joystick!!
and its USB too!! Yippie.. I hardly ever used it.. but somehow I think its going to get rather alot of hammer come December! :D:D bring it on!!!

Really I would prefer to use a mouse and keyboard, but I am not sure yet ...

I wonder if mouse and keyboard gives a more accurate game play experience or not ? It does for FPS, but have no idea if that is the case for a modern space game.

Umm... wandered through a Maplin store earlier today, and they had a fair few joysticks on the shelves at not too daft prices.

Probably available cheaper elsewhere though.

Pretty sure I've got an old but little used MS force feedback joystick lurking in the bottom of a box somewhere, will have to hunt it down.

I think mouse + keyboard are good for modern space sim.

Yeah, really hoping so. I'm encourged by the fact that whenever I see Chris Roberts playing SC builds he's got a gamepad in his hands. :D
